Protection for those buying toons

Is there anything protecting the buyer from scams when purchasing characters off the website? Also how does the character purchasing work exactly? is it an account or does the toon get transferred into your account.

The character gets transferred to your account. You can see characters gear on armory and if the seller includes inventory it's also visible on armory. So you can see all the items that you get with the character.
