thinking about making my first healer, any advice

I have played wow for years, started on molten before icc opened, I was warlock, mage and hunter in nox eternae on molten when ICC opened and we had most of the realms firsts. When cata was released I went retail, never did much raiding until mop when i joined the warcraft hunters union and we raided all hunter most of the time.

I have never rolled a healer and i need a change.
What class would you recomend and why.
Pvp and pve I like to do both, i mostly did rbg right before i left retail hunter and warlock.

Well, do you want to do Strictly healing or do you want to also do other roles if you so chose?

    If the latter Paladin/Druid

Otherwise pick what you think you would enjoy.

The different healing classes have different strengths. Note that, with the exception of priests, each class has only one healing spec.

    • Holy Paladins are the best tank healers, and are arguably the most durable healing class, because of their plate.
    • Resto Druids are the best raid healers. More than other healing classes, they maintain their class versatility while specced for healing.
    • Resto Shamans are the second-best raid healers, and bring more buffs to a raid than any other class, including the valuable Bloodlust/Heroism.
    • Disc Priests are very good tank and raid healers, and have the most powerful shields (damage absorption spells) of any class.
    • Holy Priests are... probably also good at something.

    Posting here because similar question.
I want to heal in PvP, but I've never done so.... Which class would be best to start off with?

    Druid.

    @OP
If its your first time getting into healing, go with either Shaman or Druid, both are good for beginners and easy to master (Pve)

Thanks for the input everyone, I thinking druid, because if I suck at healing I could always go boomkin.

    Resto Sham bud.
    Why?
Earth Shield and Riptide easy to work.
Chain heal gets everyone attention, very fun to use :)
Don't ever worry about dispelling anything ever again, you have a totem that does it for you.

Try to play with some friendlier players who can help you with questions too. Some people will just rage at you for playing a new char and not having it mastered, whereas some people will actually help you and not get butt hurt if you make a mistake. Good luck!

All of them are fun. I recommend getting a healing addon like Grid, Vuhdo, or Healbot!
