They tend to ask for 1-50k at any given time if you sit in Dalaran, other cities can be less. The problem is that there are at least 10 of these people spread out doing it at any given time. They don't even ask anymore, they just open trade and sit there waiting. So forgive me if I despise the mass of lazy people. This is not Unicef.
Well that depends, lets push it to an IRL situation. Ask 10 guys in a suit if any of them will just cut a check for $1000 to give to you and tell me how it plays out. I'm sure you'll find there's lots of rude people in the world when it comes to others asking them for money.
Guys, guys. Why so worked up?
1)No, i think its rude to say "better without them" as if they shouldn't even exist - seems a bit "racist". And actually why even bother say no when there is no real good reason?(that's more weird than rude)
2)Hmm, i wonder why are there so many? There is maybe just as many that would give them. No? I would personally blame Unicef for the situation, not the beggars.
3) Lol, comparing to real life - there is no base for comparison.

You're right there's no base of comparison for real life because gold is considerably easier to make in game than money is IRL (can't sell a buncha dirt or weeds unlimited to vendors at a market) but it gets the point across. Yea there's people who spare change or a couple bucks to beggers but when it's easier to make currency in a game then the excuse for begging becomes less reasonable.
Sorry if people disagree in regards to feeling the server would be better without them but it sticks the point home that people are much less likely to help lazy players than to help players who at least show effort (or you know...get to know people first instead of begging strangers for gold cause they're in purples).
If people don't like earning things and prefer to have them given then they need to either donor or consider playing another game cause this isn't the MMO for them.

Yes it is (in Lordaeron)
Once someone asked me 1000 gold and I said boobs or GTFO, 5 minutes later s/he came back with a link to webcam boobs. I was impressed and gave him/her 2k gold
I'm not worked up (though you seem a bit overly defensive) nor comparing it to real life. You said that I don't get it. I never said they shouldn't exist. I've given you plenty good reason to say no. Gold beggars are annoying, they should work for their money the same way everyone else does. If I gave people gold every time I was asked, I'd be more broke than they are right now. Unless you can give a clear and legitimate reason why saying no would be rude, then I can't help but dismiss you as a troll.
"I wonder why there are so many?"
Server rates? Hello? You level up faster than you earn gold. If people would stick around in an area to do all the quests like they normally would on a lower rate realm, they would have more gold than they could spend at that level. At level 80, quests give gold upwards of 200 per quest.
"There is maybe just as many that would give them. No?"
I have given 500 gold to a level 17, and then watch them turn around, no more than a minute later, and ask someone else for gold. Explain that. Before you try and say that this is an isolated incident, I'm sorry, but that sort of thing happens with most gold beggars.
only 1 that irks me is gold beggars. **** them. they get told to get a gathering proff and that's it. we even had 1 guy leave our guild cause we wouldn't give him gold 2 minutes after he joined. annoying little buggers.
There is no reason to be lazy, if someone is begging for gold I always tell them to go earn it themselves. I never give gold to them because I KNOW for a fact they will keep asking other people. Now if it is someone I know and I am friends with and they need like 3g, sure I would give them the gold especially since I know they are not the kind of person to ask for more from other people.
Exactly that. It has happend to me to. it was not 500 gold but i think it was 100 or something Needed gold for level 40 mount and buy some skills or something. gave him gold and a few min later he did ask a friednf of mine about 100 gold, giving exactly the same reason.
I have sometimes given gld to people who ask but there is NO WAY IN HELL i can give everyone that ask me for gold, then i would be broke or have to spend hours a week farming gold just to be able to feed the beggars.
I cant see how it would be rude or in any way bad to say no. if someone say yes an give them gold thats nice of them, i think. But there is nothign wrong with saying no.
There is no real reason to why someone should give gold to a beggar, if you chose to its up to you. But there is actually no reason to.
I never begged for gold and i managed to get gold to the things i needed or wanted, it might have taken a little more time sometimes but still.
begging for gold you actually only do if you are
1. new to the game and dont actually kno how to earn any gold. in that case you can actually insted ask how to earn gold and people will give you tips. But if you try togive a tip on how they can earn some gold in an easy way whan someone begs gold they often get offended and tell you **** off
2. Too lazy to bother to earn your own gold. and rather leach on other that are willing to do the work.
3. Doing it for fun to see if you can get people to give you gold
There is no other reason anyone begs for gold in a game like wow. There might be some variation s but they all fall uner one of those categories. And please Enlighten me WHY someone should give these persons gold?
I meant it with sarcasm to point you in the direction of the answer - you didn't even try to get into what i'm saying The multiple lines you wrote are actually the same as the single line I wrote. And your multiple lines don't even cover all of it. If you're not going to get anything from what i say, i don't see why i should explain any of it. "explain that" - the answer is under your nose, you just don't want to see it. With this, I don't think you realize, that you admit that you don't get it. Sorry Mercy. Legitimate anwer: if these guys exist there is a good reason behind it. And its not the one you give - "like they normally would on a lower rate realm" what does that even mean?!? It makes no sense in terms of gameplay( i know what it means when read literally). I actually see why you're rude about it, because you don't get it.

she's not the only one that doesn't get what your saying. you make 0 sense.
gold beggars exist because they're to ****ing lazy to go out and get gold. end of story.
Yea i kinda understood that. You guys simply can't see from the other side of the fence and you become rude, because you don't get it. This kinda reminds me of ISIS actually - uneducated rude bunch(not comparing you to them, just the behavior is similar).
Kasumii is the only one without perfection googles, which is good cuz she got part of answer(tho little part)
But yeah i agree, end of story.
