I just downloaded the game from here on warmanes website. The first thing that happens as I start the game and try to log in is that it starts to download an update. But then as it comes to the end of its loading bar an error message appears saying its not working, and thus I can't log in to play the game...

log-in by using your warmane account name, not email address.

I've had the wow.exe file is read only & can not be overwritten error.
Is this due to me logging in on my gmail address that i made specifically for this??

dude... check my previous post. To play on Warmane you need to log-in by using account name, not email address.
