I will let you know right at start, i play only Cataclysm expansion, so i have no personal experience of other expansions.
I wanted to make a topic about these things, since they've been bothering me for a while. This is mainly meant to staff of Warmane, but i wanted that everyone could come to give out their thoughs about it.
So, i'd like to hear some actual facts about character trading system. Why are the prices so high? I did put my naked character on sale, it did cost 30 coins. Then i did check how much would it cost with inventory included, it was 117 coins. 117 coins for a character that is actually totally worthless by all meanings. Items that this character has, are worth of something, couple of them. HC rathrak, normal cloth gloves from Spine of Deathwing (ilvl403) and cataclysmic leg piece and last but not least, few parts of crafted vicious gear. The thing why i wanted to discuss about this and what bothers me, is obviously the price. Why would ANYBODY, buy a character like that. You have to farm things ingame for weeks, or then you have to spend 100€ to buy the character that has actually nothing on it. Would you, dear game masters and moderators, do it by yourself? I bet you wouldn't. So, are those prices so high, so people would donate instead of farming stuff ingame and trade them for coins? This has been in everybody's mind for sure, but i haven't seen anybody coming up with it, yet.
Full geared character, with professions, full gear, tons of achviements, titles and mounts. They can be sold for around 400 coins. Again, 400 coins. This is once again, 350 euros to donate, or then monts of ingame farming. Is there any point on that? As a casual player of warmane, i will say, it's totally not worth it, and i would never, ever buy anything like that. Think it like this, you can buy 6 new games, totally new games, from a local market, or steam, or anywhere, and spend hundreds of hours enjoying them, or then you just buy a character in Private Server, that has already everything achviewed. Which one would you choose?
We're talking about hundreds of euros here. Have you sold characters via that system? If you have, could you explain what kind of gear they had, achviements, titles, mounts, etc. Everything that matters when you buy a character. And of course, the price that it was sold. I can't believe that any of those characters, that costs over 400 coins, has been sold.
I'm not here to tell that you're doing your job wrong. I simply want to make an open discussion of how we could make things better, together, community and the hosts.
I suggest that you'd let people sell their characters with a price of their own choise. If a character with full gear is on sale for 100 coins, people would propably donate for the coins, and buy the character. It is worth it. Only one that loses anything, is the seller. But isn't it right that used toys aren't worth of amount as new ones? With this i mean, he has leveled the character, he has farmed gear, he has spent time and efforts on that, maybe even donated for items the character has. At the moment it looks like we'd pay for the work somebody else has done for the character. Yes, i understand that, but it's not worth of hundreds of euros or dollars.
Then about other things. What's your plans with Wrath of the Lich King expansion? How long will it take to get some efforts on other expansions aswell? When will Cataclysm get their major fixes done, that are making most "not enjoyable" Dragon Soul is bugged, Raid items in Battlegrounds(With this i mean those items, as example a jetpack from ICC, let's you fly around with it, bugging you inside of walls with flags and so on), Arena's are empty and full of bug abusers, or something like that. Take a look at here, this is from Warmane's 1v1 event from Neltharion. There's 2 things that are making me, and propably many others mad and frustrated. Or i don't know, i could be wrong aswell. Anyways. Red circle on right, at those buffs. You see that cogwheel there? That was item from a quest, that caused the stun on . Yes, it is useable in Arenas and Battlegrounds. You see ...'s cooldowns at bottom right corner. It took just a bit longer from the video to show that he does use Hand of Justice, so the first stun effect didn't come from Hand of Justice. Here's link to this video, fight starts at about 00:26:50. Second thing in that picture was upper red circle i made fast with paint. That text. À 3 ƒ ƒ Ä 3 Í ƒ ƒ = Kiss my *** (Kyss my ***). This is one thing that is ruining PvP. Yes, it's not illegal or anything. I just want to make this clear, for everybody. Is this worth of reporting? Is onlyway to get rid of this, just to /ignore the player that does this?
I don't want anybody to get offended by this topic. I just want answers. Please, give your thoughs in comments, i really want to know what's up with these things i wrote down earlier. And btw, sorry if there's some misstyping. I tried my best.

The system will stay that way... I received infraction for flaming that it's ridiculous and nobody will buy those characters... As you point 468 coins for a character? Well in Wotlk a HC item costs 23 coins and full gear is 350 coins to have 6.6k PvE character with RS 25 HC/ ICC 25 HC... They said they don't care and the system is fine the way it is.

Because Warmane is not really interested in trading system wich is pretty strange.
Without autistic prices people will donate more oftent to buy characters -> more moneys for Warmane.

The prices are made up by the people who sells them, and just like auctionhouse people dont undercut like hell if they can make some good coins on it, especially not when there's coins involved.
The prices might be high but have you talked to anyone who has gotten their char sold with those prices? I sure havent and Ive been asking around alot.
People just dont pay for the gear either, The acheivements plays a huge role aswell, lets say you buy a char with BiS gear and LoD acheive, suddenly you can go from compleate newbie to being invited into the best raiding guild and clearing all content in a matter of days.
I like the feature though and having the system is great, but if your intrested in buying a character I would wait until most plebs realise they will never get their toons sold with those high prices.Edited: July 6, 2016

What none of you gets is that by allowing a free market their going to lose their marketplace revenue. Some people would be more than happy to set a 6k character for just 23 coins if they could.. i happly sold a 6.2k mage for 50 coins when they set free prices for like 2 hours or something (glitch or wtv)
This whole trade character stuff is a waste of dev time tbh.

I agree with More money for Warmane. I don't find any other reason for them to keep prices such high, than the hope of hundreds of donated euros. For a player, it's just nonsense to buy any of those character with 400 euros, to get everything done already. If i'd buy a character, i'd buy character with little bit of gear, as example Honor PvP gear. It's a good point to start from. I'd pay 50 coins for that yes, but not 150.

The system is not meant to encourage you to trade characters in any way. People asked for it for a long time, now it's available. If you aren't ok with the pricing, feel free not to trade them.
Regards moving on, Lordaeron is atm in stage 3.1. Once it hits 3.3.5 and most of its bugs will be fixed, focus will be moved. However, I believe, next focus will be Mists of Pandaria (might be Cata, but I doubt it).
In the beginning of the year there was a poll where Warmane Staff gave two options - close cata and focus on WotLK/MoP, or leave cata open but with very very low amount of fixes, if any. People chose the second option. Therefore you can't really say anything about the fact they arent fixing cata - they warned you.

Yes, characters are being sold, and not just a handful. The fact some people wouldn't pay certain prices doesn't stops people who both want to contribute to the server and get geared characters. If you add 20 trash items to the character, but they are trash items that are sold for 15 coins each in the Marketplace, maybe you should give it more thought instead of throwing a fit about how much the minimum price for selling it will be. The minimum cost will take into account everything the character has, no matter if you consider it trash or not. Bottom-line is don't try to sell with trash items.

What about those bug abuses? You know when they might be fixed? I gave out that when ... cheated in Warmane's own tournament, and nothing happened. I don't blame you for not noticing this, but i'd like to know when will things like this be removed?

That's stuff you should be asking the Head GM or perhaps Head QA, not I. I don't deal with bugs, bug abuses, cheaters, tournaments or anything like that, just the Forums and rule breaks - like using the open Forums to try "reporting" players, as you did.
