Swapping factions etc.

Ok so I would like to ask 2 questions in this post:
#1: What happens to your character's gold and inventory and also the equipped gear when you swap factions?
#2: What is the current PvE state in Alliance, how many PvE guilds are there, are they doing ToT HC and SoO progression runs and also are they recruting new members?

#1 supposedly either remains the same or switches the faction if that's one faction only item.
