in cata you don't even get near bis actual items (top item levels being 410/416 from deathwing heroic and point shop supplying 365 items which are lower than what some DUNGEONS give) it's equivalent to like... naxx25 or ulduar10 gear in wotlk... which is so far from bis it's stupid
meanwhile my next to naked dk on icecrown has a point-obtained glorenzelg normal which is, I believe not far off from best in slot, beaten only by its heroic version and Shadowmourne... so, you could say that point shop could be... reworked again to make its gains roughly equal across the expansions (lately my point collecting has been slowly gearing my 1 day /played dk on wrath just because they're useless in cata)
even the transmogs we can get... well, nothing too spectacular because they won't even let cata have all wotlk raid gear in there... at least old one where you could get pets and mounts and misc items was the same across expansions and wasn't "wow" on one and "crap" on otherEdited: July 28, 2016

Islingr wasnt we meant to get T11 items put into the cata shop? Since we were forgotten about point shop wise and far behind the quality of the Wrath one.

yea but to have same effect as wotlk shop we'd need raidfinder DS stuff in there at least... or firelands normal... since ICC10N could be likened to DS raidfinder
I don't know how they even did the "math" on what gear to put into which shop, seeing as they literally let my wotlk noob dk get 1-2 steps from best in slot (if only I get a heroic vanq's mark of sanctification any 'set giving' items can be absolute best in slot)... and they'll let me get the second crappiest looted gear in cata (right after starting dungeon sets)... makes no bloody sense to me
