If you think WotLK was more popular than Cataclysm because it introduced transmog, you are delusional. It's a feature that literally has ZERO impact on gameplay, yet you started naming archaeology, flying mounts in Azeroth etc... I'd personally like to see transmog, even if its only visible by me. It's not a blizzlike feature, true, but there are some custom stuff already you know, like LK/Halion 25hc dropping SM, arena titles obtainable via 2v2 bracket etc..
I think the person that got the idea to implement something like transmog in wow is a genious and should be given a nobel price.
Would like to see it on Lord, but i honestly doubt that will ever happen
Pardon me? Shadowmourne as a drop? That happened a long time ago on Molten. We're on Warmane and the staff members admitted that that was a big mistake because it was a custom measure.
What about enjoying the game as we have it and stop modifying it?
Lordaeron had a great success because it was a clean realm, with few bugs and offered an authentic experience and was a different story from the annoying lfr, transmog and other features, that's why so many players joined,it was the OLD,PURE,ORIGINAL content.
There's no one holding you to go and play on the Cataclysm realm, why aren't you playing there...maybe because that realm is abandoned by the players because most of the players are tired of the post Cataclysm stuff.
Lordaeron is clean, and that is how it should remain, untouched by all these things,as the 2009 version was.
You'll have plenty of transmog on Legion on retail or on the other realm on Warmane, enjoy it there.
molten(warmane) never had transmog and that is the reason why this server is the best out there, and transmog should never be available on wotlk it ruins the whole experience. If u want transmog go play on a 255 server.. most people who like transmog actually like the 255 lvl idea... my opinion :)
How transmog ruin someone's experience? Please explain to me. Thank you
I'm player from retail so I hate transmog with my whole heart. Because of it I dont even know what new sets look like because nobody bothers checking if that would look good, they instantly mog it to fit their set. I literally miss seeing new sets. Like in wrath - by looks you could get basic understanding of how geared a person is as it was instantly seenable what wep person has, if any t10 etc. On retail I literally miss that.
That is completely understandable, i, myself, felt the same way sometimes. BUT! What if they make transmogrification completely a website thing, like Proterean once said? It would be turned off by default, which would mean that you would see everybody with their ''normal'' gear, but whoever likes transmog, they can turn it on, either to be able to see only themselves (what i would use, probably) or everybody else who has transmog turned ON? I don't see a downside of that system, it's basically a win-win scenario.
"If you wish to see it, you can go on the website, flip the switch and then you see it on yourself and on others. It would be completely optional and basically turned off by default without adding anything custom into the game (no NPCs, or vendors or anything)." - Proterean
I said it earlier (maybe even in this thread, too lazy to check) that I remember staff member saying that if such feature will be thought of, most likely it will be enablable thru website for coins (since thats an extra feature that requires extra work)
Except there will never be RDF regardless of patch. It's already confirmed and the welcome message + periodical messages say 'disabled RDF' for a reason.
Ok this is your personal reason why you dont like xmog. Not ruining experience for everyone. I like to see unique gear combinations
Please check my previous post in this thread.
I agree that optional transmog would be the best option as it would not hurt anybody. It could work in a way that you could enable/disable it through the website. So if you like it, turn it on. If you don't, then just leave it be, it's a win-win situation.
+1- I don't understand how people can say that it will damage the WOTLK experience. The only thing that will change is that people will be doing older content too. The older content will then be used by the level 80s, not just the people that are leveling.
-This means that more people that are looking for boost trough instances can get it without asking/begging. (The good side of that: People that struggle with leveling, and don't really like the hardcore experience migth get a easier time on the server).
-People can reexperience old content and the good old days.
-Easier for achivment farmers.
-Bring more people because they can do both older content and newer content.
-Easier for people that enjoy twinking on the diffrent brackets.
And I am sure there will be lots of other good reasons.
So, if it is optional how will it damage the WOTLK experience? Btw, I am not telling the staff to do it, I am just giving some reasons why it migth be a good idea.
Still love the server if they include it or not! :)
Well said. The thing you miss is a trait of the authentic realms without custom features.
Most of the players that want transmog so badly can go on Neltharion or on retail, they added a new transmog system,go and check it out,you might find it interesting.
Seasoned veterans of retail appreciate Lordaeron for theeir struggles to look as much as possible like the amazing 3.0.1 - 3.3.5a realm back in 2009.
There are things that might look interesting before you do them, but then you realize that they were exactly the opposite, just like the free transfers from Frostwolf to Lordaeron, which screwed the economy(1x gem=2000g),introducing Shadowmourne in the online market for the Lordaeron players(even though it was promised that it will never be),inserting Shadowmourne in the ICC drop loot(it hurts to type this abomination) and many many other great ideas that hyped everyone and then turned out to ruin the realm.
Once, you pour ink into water, you cannot drink clean water again.Keep it pure and clean, this is what attracts the huge number of players.
