1. How do I avoid Gearscore elitism?

Hello all, I am currently still level 35 but the gearscore elitism I see in the chat channels worries me. When I decided to play WOTLK again I did not expect the server to be this authentic. This is 2010 all over again with Gearscore.

I want to play and raid in a guild which does not give any crap about this gearscore (as long as you have adequate entry level gear ofc) business. What are the ways I can do this? Even for heroics people seem to ask for ridiculous numbers. How can I get the gear they want without even having a shot at heroic dungeons anyway?

  2. Just make your own groups.
That's for the dungeons..for raids I suppose find a guild that has the same philosophy?

  3. (as long as you have adequate entry level gear ofc)
You do realise that this is exactly what they mean with GS? If they ask you for a certain GS score in order to enter a guild, that is how they're dictating the entry level for people to join.

With that being said, any decent guild shouldn't have a strict GS requirement for invite. Getting gear is easy enough if you have a raid to carry people with, what guilds should be looking out for is how good players are, which gear alone can never tell.

  4. There is a lot of guilds for fresh 80. They just started do raids and stuff. 35 is perfect for one of the leveling guild, make friends here and move together to better one. Its still long way ahead of you to 80:)

All games have their epenises tools so dont worry to much about it. What matters is knowlege experience and skill.

  5. You shouldn't ever have an issue with gs entries in Lordaeron if you're crafty enough to gear yourself up at the right times.

Get your professions and level them. Make money, Buy or craft gear. Farm Northrend Reputations to get ilvl 187/200 gear, enchants and miscanellous. Buy BoE items. Clear all the quests in Icecrown and Storm Peaks for the best quest-obtained gear.

Of course there are people who're going to ask for a gearscore equivalent of a cleared 25 naxx because they want an easier run but they're a minority.

Also be social and find a guild that will be more tolerant for lesser-geared people.

That's allright, I can do that. I was worried that even doing that I would not be able to break into any raiding guild.
