Technical Error with updating WOTLK client

Hi guys,

New to the server, a refugee from Nostalrius, thought I'd make this place my new home :)

Problem: I'm unable to start the game. Logging on works, but then before the character creation screen pops up, it loads an updater/patcher and minimises/closes the game.

It says the patcher is updating to 4.0.0.0?? and fails to connect to the patch server. Is this just a problem with the patch server for a patch actually required to play on lordaeron or is this an official blizzard feature that should hve been turned off somehow?

You have to log in with your username, rather than with your email.
