I was wondering how long to wait at the "Updating faction" before restarting client. I dont want to lose anything or mess up anything by not waiting long enough.

if you wanna be sure wait 5 min and then restart the client
to be 100% sure just check the armory, url (if frostwolf): http://armory.warmane.com/character/XXX/Frostwolf
change "XXX" with character name and see what race it shows

From the website go into My Account>Services>Select Realm>Select Character>Set Currency:Points or Coins>Change faction/race

Yesterday i tried to change my faction. i had been waiting for 2 hours when i cancelled it. The character havent changed its faction. Today i am trying again to change it. i have been waiting again almost 2 hours. i checked the armory and log another my acc to see whether it is changed but no it isnt. I wonder is there andy problem whit the server or how long else i must wait?

Good day to all! Last night, I 'Changed Faction' one of my toons from Alliance to Horde. After completing the customization, Character Rename and clicked Done button, I was stucked to "Updating Faction..." I've read "How to" and "What to do" threads on this forum and I believe I have done everything that's been said by everyone. Been doing everything over and over again for 2 hours last night, got tired and went to sleep.
Now, the same thing's happening. Been doing it for an hour now and nothing. :( So I decided to post here and seek help. Maybe I am still missing something? Would greatly appreciate more inputs and help, please. Thank you.
Btw, I'm in Frostwolf. :)
