1. How to start at lvl 80?

Hey guys, my teams are slowly getting closer to lvl 80. Right now i have:

    Def Tank
    Ice Mage
    Holy Paladin
    2 Beast hunters

    and
    Def Paladin
    4 Element shamans

Both teams are between 68-72 now

To be honest, i am just a medicore Multiboxer at best. I allways liked making instances. All classic instances were fun and entertaining. But with TBC it starts getting harder and harder. Bigest problems are:

(aoe fear/knockback my team => hunters and shamans look wrong direction and dont attack anymore, out of range)

    Debuff if u stand together

    Poison/fire clouds

too much aoe damage in general(with 4 shamans okay, but with just 1 holy paldin i got destroyed)

So, i doubt i will be able to make heroic instances soon.

My thoughts were: making quests and low instances to get decent gear and join with tank and maybe 1-2 toons for rdf heroic, so that my tank gets better gear.

or just make a bit pvp(and totaly get tear apart ^^)

so what have u done with your teams at lvl 80 to start?

  2. I don't technically multibox, but I do usually gear chars up by craft items/BoE's and rep items... to get to a decent gear level, you can then just go farm bg's once you're not in full leveling greens anymore

  3. Bigest problems are:

(aoe fear/knockback my team => hunters and shamans look wrong direction and dont attack anymore, out of range)
    Get the quest item http://www.wowhead.com/item=35352/sages-lightning-rod.
Using the item on a opponent makes ur character face the target.
    Check http://www.dual-boxing.com/threads/3...-facing-target for more info.

  4. You could do some ways :

    1. Train proffesions and craft your own gear.
    2. Quest for gold and buy BOE gear from the auction.

Those 2 are probably the best ways to do it.
Don't even bother trying to gear through RDF because that would take forever.

  5. 1. Train proffesions and craft your own gear.
going partially off-topic here but I find that self-sufficiency is very handy in most game aspects, when you have one or more of each prof you can always "go craft" or "go farm" instead of "ugh auction is so overpriced"

  6. As soon as I hit 80 I put on a rep tabard and farm HoL normal until I get the tank trinket from the last boss. Once I have that trinket, I farm heroics. Easiest ones to start with are Gundrak / Utgarde Keep / Nexus then I move onto Halls of Lightning / Halls of Stone / Azjol Nerub and after that do whichever ones I'm capable of beating. Depends on what gear drops on the first day really.

  7. So which instances can be multiboxed easily?

last week i tried nexus but the first boss through my entire team arrount the place i quit after

yesterday i tried caverns of time with my 68-69 team, and i whiped 6 times at the second boss, so i quit there as well.

i realy had much fun in the classic dungeons but now i am more whiping than playing.

so when your TEAM reach lvl 80, what are u doing?

Are u playing 1 charakter solo and slowly increase members, dual box, than tribox than entire team?

Right now i doubt that i will be able to clear one single dungeon with my teams

  8. I go straight into dungeons with all 5.

  9. Hey, i thought i give an update, my 2 teams are now both 80 for 2 weeks.

I improved my reputation while leveling with some factions, so i could buy some nice blue lvl 187/200 items.

I am exalted with wyrm and ebon blade.

I think doing quests is a good start at lvl 80, it gives much money and reputation.

I did some instances, they are fun, but u get more with questing.

3 quests = 300-500 gold, so enough for 1 low epic in the ah.

And i joined icecrown reputation runs, u get to friendly in 1 less than 30 minutes, so 1 slot you dont have to bother anymore.

next i will probably try to 10 box an reputation run.

  10. get ashen verdict to exalted before the rate is reduced.

  11. I pushed my reputation with ashen verdict and ebon hawk.

10 boxing a reputation run wasnt that easy, i allways ran to the guards for help when the big ones showed up.

now all my 14 chars have a nice ring and i got about 15 boe epics.

    Next i tried was FOS

it started realy nice, i got 2 epics while wiping to the first boss.

but i just wiped 5 times, than i finaly got him to 35% and wiped again at his soulstorm. than i gave up.

    My gearscore is about 2,5k-3k

With my 4 shaman+pala tank i cannot see how i should farm him right now. his aoe spell hits all my chars for 10k damage, so i need to heal them.

than i get the problem, that there is a soul, i need to burst him but my tank gets low on health.

and when my toons stand far away from boss, i can kill the souls but when the soulstorm activates they are doomed.

i am not sure how i should kill him with my second team (warrior tank, pala healer, icemage, 2 hunters) just because i dont have group heal.

    any advices?

  12. I saw your party comp last night, you should be fine, what I might suggest, is running Lower HC instances. You wont be able to que up till about 3.3-3.6k however you can go there and do it, build up some gear with UK, old kingdom, and nexus, they will give you badges and most likely some nice upgrades to even let you progress further with bron. Then que up for the extra 2 EoT's and EoF's, gonna have to take it slow with your first team, then use them to outfit the rest.

Look forward to seeing you in the world, It will be nice to see how I do against you when your ready.

  13. I pushed my reputation with ashen verdict and ebon hawk.

Honestly I did this with my paladin team around a 3-3.2K GS on them. Not even a dedicated healer. My advice it to stay the hell away from the outter ring where he will soulstorm, run shadow protection aura from your pally and any other shadow resist or protection potions you might be able to use. While nuking him, constantly try to tab target so you will pick up the stone that heal him asap and nuke those. If you are not killing those stones, the fight will last too long, and if you stand in the soulstorm, well thats like the noob that stands in the fire essentially. Heck you may even make a macro to target the stones and throw that in the mix so you dont miss them. I forget the exact name of what they are called.

You may also try to replace some gear with crafted gear, other rep gear you may not have, and higher stamina PVP gear. This is easily obtainable by running ten arena games per week (whether you win or lose) and do the weekly Wintergrasp quests for honor to pick up wrathfull off pieces. It is also way faster than farming badges for pve gear.

You can do it mate. This is the challenge and excitement of multiboxing, you have to learn not only the basic strategy, but how to implement it with multiple toons. Good luck and godspeed.

EDIT: Also with the pally+shaman team, if the tank is taking more dmg than the whole group, don't stop to chain heal with all of them, remember your lesser healing waves, they are fast casting and four of them should top off your tank in one shot.

Somehow this quest chain is now broken. It worked fine about a month or so back but now after the second quest is turned in, it won't give the next one. I am not sure if this is intentional or not, but for those of you that use this technique you might want to upvote where I just posted it in the bugtracker.

The more the better so it can be addressed.
