I am relatively new to private servers and I am currently looking for a home. I had all but decided Lordaeron was it, when I saw the server message about the gold squish. I read up on the forums and apparently this is something to help newcomers get started by de-inflating the economy. This however has had the opposite effect on me. I work 60-80 hours a week, have a family and etc, so in 4 months time best case scenario I am a relatively fresh 80 maybe trying to get geared enough for Uld, given some luck...and good gold farming.
This is where you guys lost me, at least for the next 4 months. 50% of my starting money that I need for starter gear and mat's, profession leveling, whatever...is going to just disappear into nothing. If I had already been established, this wouldn't hit me near as hard, but right now this has the exact opposite effect of what is intended. I wish you guys the best of luck, and please do not take this message as me trash talking this server. Were it not for this I would be here, leveling and perfectly happy. You said in the other thread that feedback was valued by your staff, so this is my contribution to that. For now, I am off to my second choice.

Only the gold you have on you will be squished not the future gold you will make from professions etc.. while i cant say if the squish is a good idea or not.. i can say people are stressing way too much lets see what happens. We fear the unknown..so prepare. And Lordaeron isnt going to gel with your lifestyle i dont think...maybe do Icecrown as the rates will allow for progression way faster. Good luck and have fun.
