... and the old one is near to it's end, i'm curious how the tanks showed up so far in Naxx and Ulduar?
Basically, how would you guys rank tanks for those two raids, from best to worst with explanation, please? Would like to hear opinion from members of top raiding guilds on Lordaeron as well.
Bonus question: Which tank is gonna dominate in ToC? My guess would be Paladin/Druid, but i also expect Unholy Dk's to raise a bit.
Paladins in the top, followed by Druids, Death Knights and Warriors. Usefulness of Death Knights being very situational, otherwise almost as poor as Warriors.
Can someone tell me why are prot warriors bad on this server? Because i'm still getting oneshoted sometimes even overgeared for the raid. Is it just because of the buffed damage?

Protection Warriors worked well during 3.0 and 3.1 when talents were different and bosses weren't scaled up.

From my experience, it's because they rely on avoidance, but in wotlk expansion (especially with buffed content) avoidance is not playing such an important role as EHP. I mean sure, they can stack stamina, but bears, for example, have much bigger stamina multiplier, so why would you pick warrior over a bear at the moment, when bear will always have much bigger EHP than a warrior, regardless of warrior's gemming? Except maybe for fun. :)
I feel pretty inclined to respond to this post... being pretty much the only warrior MT on the server..
First off, I will say this, my response in yielded toward I am a warrior enthusiast.
I also would like to say I played prot warrior on this server since prenerf naxx and tanked it from release till now, same will ulduar. This is also prot warriors weakest expansion and I realize that.
I would also like to argue that a well played prot warrior is by far the best tank in MOST situations in naxx + ulduar. Mainly due to shield wall being 60% reduction which no other class can even come close to topping. That's where the skill comes in as a prot warrior, if you don't know when to use your shield wall at the perfect times during most fights its punishing...Warriors are also very gear dependent, I cant say it wasn't frustrating in progression when my hp was on the lower end but we just spammed me with gear and within two or three weeks I was fine. Can harp on this for a long time but just going to leave it there.
As far as druids effective health? Well, I have a bear myself, which I played extensively for 4 weeks of post-nerf uld farm content+hms. I can honestly say the only fight I prefer the druid is Kolo and maybe IC hm due to the short CDs..... other than that ill take my warrior any day with my additional threat, bigger CDs, interrupts, and oh of course the swag :)

I would like to add to this topic also. I play(ed) a Blood DK tank, or at least tried, but now our guild being broken up a rolled a mage, since there was no need for tank in my new guild.
We just started the content initally with Naxx 10 and then 25. I had all the BiS gear from hc dungeons, the 200 ilvl Blacksmithing epic head and boots, have the Jwcraft epic tank ring also.
I dont consider myself a very good tank (with Dk, i have tanked with druid on other server and loved it) so things could be done better i think, but i know tha basics and can respond well to situations.
I tried Frost talent, but wasnt satisfied with it, mainly for aggro reasons, which i find very odd, i wasnt generating enough for my liking, so i switched to Blood, mainly because Unholy needs really good gear with avoidance ( to which topic i will be coming back alter).
The main thing with Blood is that its not like the other tanks, negating and preventing the damage, its more like about reacting to it with self heals and smart use of our very short cd abilities like vampiric blood etc. So what is here the problem you ask?
Since boss damage was buffed, dk-s are getting pounded hard, and i cant selfheal back enough, in my gear avoidance is not that high yet (i have 22% dodge, 17% parry, armor i forgot but at least 61%, Hp, which i gemmed is 29k <-- all these are self buffed ofc, without flask and food). I found our healers were running dry in naxx 10 mainly because the fights were taking too long (probably a fault of dps being a bit low) but the feeling of being squishy was definetly a fact. The buffed damage doesnt corresponds well with the Dk style tanking.
I dont tried Unholy tanking because of gear reasons, which Unholy Dk needs a lot of avoidance to be effective, however i dont think they will be good anytime soon, because the buffed boss damage and generally lower Hp pool of Unholy tanks.
I dont know however if the situation is better on higher tiers, but in naxx for DK tanks is pretty dire :/. I had the conversation with our pala tank, adn he didnt experienced the difficulties i had, and from the looks of his hp when i checked during fights, it was much smoother and healers said easier too. I just feel a bit sad, i liked Dk tanking, but seeing its not really working out on this server i wish id started a druid or paladin.
Anyway thanks for reading my wall of text, and sorry for grammar mistakes, second language issues :).

To be honest its been a while since i tanked anything other than OS. My guild dont have many geared ppl, and half of them disappeared the last couple of weeks.
But i'll contact you so you can check my char and see if i'm doing anything wrong.

I currently tank as Unholy DK. I've also played Frost and Blood. Unholy, in terms of raids, is the best DK tank spec to play. Lower health pool + Bone Shield > High health pool. When bone shield isn't up, you have plenty of other cds to keep you up. This is of course is with a decent amount of avoidance. This holds true until ICC although it is still viable in ICC.
As a side note, I tanked heroics as Unholy as well way before I had decent avoidance gear. The only issue I had was aoe burst damage classes that didn't allow me to gain sufficient threat with my dots.

Okay then probably the situation would have gotten better with gear for me. I know Unholy is the best, but in only naxx gear there isnt much avoidance (i mean enough for unholy) in my opinion.

I think you can tank almost with every talent no problem heroics with dk, you only need the key talents and thats it. Sometimes aggro will be the problem (yeah those aoe bursts...i am looking at you starfall boomkins :D), but in terms of surviving i think in heroics they are on the same levels as other tanks.

Did you use Death and Decay? If you did, then you can pretty much drop it from your rotation. There's report in Bugtracker that indicates how the High Threat part of DnD does not exist. And I believe this is true. Everyone can easily peel aggro from me with disease up and DnD on the ground.
Now it's even worse, you cannot aggro any mob with it. They will just plain ignore you and stand over the DnD'ed floor like an *****, with health keep on resetting.
my main's a 4k gs prot war and it sucked to tank with it. IE in nax anubarak kills me with 2 hits ( something like 30-35k each in 10man). I gave up and play alts now. Disappointed.
