I actually beg to differ... the fact that there are very little profession mats on the AH at lower levels shows the economy is being driven by max level characters. That being said, anyone who is not 80... is not a part of the economy, so every price on the AH is dependent that the buyer is also 80.

I agree. And that is particularly why the economy is not in a good state. Im approx lvl 40, I make gold, and I spend it all on what I want (not a hoarder).. but with much effort i put into buying/selling, all of the gold I spend (regardless of it only being around 100g) it doesnt make any difference because of the lvl80 driven AH.

I am not part of the economy, and I feel that should not be. Every char 25-30 and up should be able to contribute in one way or another.

then prepare to be even poorer after they nerf exiting rates and gold. the server's always going to be flooding with rich ppl simply because we're stuck with the expansions, unlike in retail where ppl dont have the luxury of time to "hoard" stuff.

i've seen ppl saying that all existing gold from all chars should be nuked too, claiming it would give a newcomers a change at the economy and "punish" hoarders.

funny thing is they actually did that once, it's called molt-down.
