I was wondering why does it show, when i mouse over my activity rank, less achievements than i actually have on my character?
Is it calculating average achievement points gathered across all the characters, or it counts from the highest amount of achievement points on one character?
Either way, it shows around 400 achievement points less than i actually have on one of my characters (my main).

It calculates unique achivements of all chars, if you have same achivement on 2 chars its not calculated twice.

Thank you for quick reply brother, so that means it should display the highest number of one character? Because if i have 1000 on one, 1200 on another and 2500 on the third one, it should display 2500... The higher the number, thus higher number of unique achievements, am i wrong?
1000 - basic achievements everyone has
1200 - a little bit more play time, more things done
2500 - the most time spent on a char so it has more achievements
do you get my point? i don't want to sound cheap or to people get me as i am qqing, i just want it clarified to know what should i do to bring that number up :P that's all

Yes and no, it credits only the unique achievements across all expansions and characters for the final amount.
Unique achievement means that if you did it on one character you won't get the points (for the activity rank, you still get it in-game tho') if you do the same achievement on another character.
So like if you have Explorer on your alt and you don't have it on your main you'll still get the points for that and it'll add up to your activity rank and you won't have to redo it on your main for the extra points.
If you never got banned(or 365 days passed since your last) you only need 5k points in order to collect the maximum amount of 1.2 points per day, which will take you a few months if you only play Wotlk and haven't played any other expansions.
