1. Some more cata content/refinements?

Guys, I was wondering (after seeing this was possible on another wrath server, don't really remember which one), would it be possible to have like worgen and goblins as playable races? Now I know this is vanity really, but so is transmog, so why not? They could start off in Elwyn - Durotar and go from there?
I guess some people would like playing with those models if nothing else. I don't even know what racials they have and how balanced they would be, but is this not worth at least considering it?

I thought that this would have been suggested before, but after a quick search in the forum I did not find something (maybe I didn't look hard enough?)

    And something else:
I know many people hate Cataclysm's guts but it got *some* things right, that wrath players would certainly like to see ....backported?. Granted filght in Azeroth would totally destroy world PvP, but some more subtle changes are really worth it. For example: The freaking location of the zepelin towers in Orgrimmar. No ....orc-civil-engineer in his right mind would consider building them that far away from the city center a good idea. Cataclysm *fixed* that and cata players enjoy the privilege to not have to do that pointless walking chore every so often.

What I'm trying to get at, is this: is it possible to brainstorm and backport *selected* features from cataclysm that would make life easier in some small things like that? I'm not saying "dumb the game down" or "reduce the raids/dungeon difficulty" and all of that non-sense, god forbid, but there *are* things in wrath that feel like needless chores that need fixing with somewhat ...natural-feeling solutions, not like ....placing portals in capital cities like some other servers do, which sucks and feels out of place... I don't even know if you have this level of access to the game engine to ....relocate a zepelin tower (kind of lol, because you would need something like a world builder tool) but if it *is* possible, this could open up a whole bunch of improvement possibilities...

    Sorry for the long post!

  2. Transmog was one of the big ones and we had to hammer that down their throats for YEARS before they finally gave us that even though it was a good feature with zero negatives except for not being 'blizzlike', even implementation would be easy since blackrock is wotlk and already had it. I wouldn't hold my breath on anything else being added esp. something that impacts gameplay.

Anyway, I don't think methods of transportation need to be changed. It works just fine, maybe a little too convenient tbh since unstuck feature gets abused for ez hearths. Im opposed to anything that makes the world feel smaller for the sake of convenience/comfort.

  3. Well, that thing about the zeppelins, may not be even worth the effort, what do I know? Maybe there are other things that could be done though. How about the flight masters? I don't think that the world should have a flight master every 100m like in mists of pandaria (at least at some servers I tried - never really show the official thing. Are there really that many?). But for example. Say you are in Undercity and you want to travel to the Western plaguelands. You *have* to get moving and get there riding. An alliance guy on the other hand that, say, is in Ironforge, gets his fp to that camp below the ruins Andorhal. I always found that a little annoying and when cata came out and I saw I could finally fly to the Tirisfal-West Plaugelands border i thought "*finaly* someone fixed this impracticality". Again, I'm not saying that every change cata brought was good, nor I consider a world filled with flight masters a good idea, but come on - *some* more were needed. The transportation system is too time consuming in *some* cases. This was even worse in BC, when a dranei shaman in exodar, that wanted to go quest in Westfall had to go through the brutality of 1) taking a ship to auberdine. 2) taking another ship to menethil 3) going on foot and dying along the way 5-6 times) from menethil to Ironforge 4) getting the underground tram to stormwind and finally 5) walking to Westfall. XD. This takes easily one whole hour and it was so pointless that Blizzard fixed that nonsense by giving Stormwind a (much needed) harbor. A blood elf on the other hand that wanted to quest, say, on the Barrens would take the portal to Undercity, hop on the zeppelin to Orgrimmar, walk a little (to an area that he would not die instantly from creeps that outlevel him by 10 levels or more), and voila he's there! Efficiency at its best. I'm trying to say that transportation really was problematic back in BC, (and Blitz saw that and acted on it) and it still was in Wrath in *some* scenarios, whereas in cata those things were fixed. I don't even know if many people would like those kind of changes ( I have a feeling they will not).

    Just some thoughts.

But, how about adding goblins/worgens? That would not affect the gameplay, *not* really. Would it?

  4. Adding new races takes it to near-funserver levels of ludicrousness, so eh..

  5. Not ...really new. They are 2 legitimate WoW races, designed by the game's creator - who may have done a lot things wrong, but this wasn't one of those "omg Cata went too far" moments. I think none went "Oh my god, adding Worgen and Goblin bs". I think everyone welcomed those races, like with dranei and blood elves. So it's not really like adding Naga and Ogres and other BS like that, like some other servers do.

  6. Anyway, I don't think methods of transportation need to be changed. It works just fine, maybe a little too convenient tbh since unstuck feature gets abused for ez hearths. Im opposed to anything that makes the world feel smaller for the sake of convenience/comfort.
Also, something just occurred to me about this kind of logic. If this is the way we should be thinking, then, why don't we move the zeppelin towers even *farther* away, so the world feels larger? Hell, why don't we put them to the southern Barrens so we have to travel longer? :P Honest to god, I don't mean this in a vitriolic way - I'm just trying to establish that this line of thinking cuts both ways and can end up in really funny scenarios, in a bad way.

When they moved the towers inside the city that didn't make the world smaller, just like when they gave Stormwind a port, didn't make the world smaller.

What *did*make the world smaller was that cursed dungeon finder that made everyone stay on the cities and flight in Azeroth that made world PvP going up in smoke :/

Just the right amount of convenience here and there can be a very good thing. ;)

  7. Why would you even want worgens and goblins? Their models look like ****.

  8. Let's not push our luck with the Cata's races. We are already (un-, for some people)lucky enough to get Transmog system in WoTLK server despite that being turned down hundreds of times
