I had a few questions a veteran may be able to answer.
This is all in reference to Lordaeron, the server I play on playing on.
Is the store a place where people can break the game? Meaning buy items that will empower themselves beyond people who do not pay to play?
Where can I find a social aspect in this game? Guilds, raids, etc...
Is the dungeon group finder active and running?
Is the PVE lore-friendly and are the quests involved in leveling lore-friendly/ PVE friendly?

Hello and welcome to our server!
1) Lordaeron's marketplace is limited to cosmetic items only like bags/mounts and it won't brake the game balance. That's the whole idea of Lordaeron's design.
2) You can find them either in global chat (type in /join global in your chat) or on our realms' general and guild recruitment forums
3) No, it's not and it's intended as a part of Lordaeron's realm design.
4) Yes, they are.

When looking for a group for a dungeon should I result to old methods like looking for players in the region?

The answer is in number two of Agramon's post. Unfortunately there will be a lot of traffic between players in Global channel, so I would recommend broadcasting in Global AND local territory (General channel)
