1. Killed During Leveling

Now I'm not exactly *****ing, per se, but did I possibly choose the wrong server? I find it increasingly difficult to level through the forties as max levels enjoy one shotting me so far in Tanaris. Pretty annoying to say the least. I'm struggling to want to continue donating to the server because I'm having an impossible time when it comes to leveling due to this issue. Otherwise, the game is beyond easy and feels terrible compared to how I remember it back in the Vanilla days.

  2. Literally worst place to level regardless of your faction. Pick somewhere else; you will have much better experience I swear.

Until you hit 59 and see the HELLFIRE peninsula. No wonder that place is called HELLFIRE. Holy JESUS

  3. Not sure which "side" you picked but usually Alliance member get killed more by horde. That is because there are specified Guilds who made it their "job" to kill low levels 24/7 at Gadgetzan/Tanaris and STranglethorn Vale arround the Rebel Camp.

Some people made it their job (me included) to hunt for those lowbie killers to protect the low levels.

If you are horde side, well.. ye there are also alliance people who do the same. But i have to admit i was leveling a Horde and an Alliance Char.
The Amount of dying from an Ally lvl 80 player was like 40-50 times total when i leveled up from 1 to 80 a Horde character.
But when i leveled up my Alliance Druid from 1 to 80 i died like more then 100 times by a Horde skull. They even made the "fun" to camp my corpse

Maybe someone has an other experience as Horde member?

  4. Good to know, I'm a horde member. Went with Tauren since that was initially the first race I tried. I figured it was bad, but didn't know there were specific guilds that went after lowbies. That's pretty lame. I might end up being one of those that hunt for the lowbie killers as it really kills the same. Sure, two people the same level, that might be fun, but when you suddenly see a member of the opposite faction and then die in one shot, that's pretty bad. I'll have to keep an eye out for the guild names. I've muscled through Tanaris and should be 51 by the time I go turn in quests. Hopefully Goro isn't too bad, as I actually enjoy that area.

  5. My suggestion for you is to get the Addon "Spy".
You can add people to a blacklist - it informs you when player of the opposite faction are arround - level - guild etc...
It even shows you how many times you been killed by someone.
So when you hit 80 you can make sure you "pay back" to the right people. ;)

  6. tanaris and stv are the 2 worst zones to try and level in, always 1 of us skulking about. Ungoro wasn't to bad last time i leveled there as horde, odd ali but doable. as said above you're in for a heck of a time once you hit hellfire. all in all your best bet is to avoid the heavily populated zones and find a quieter one to level in

  7. Un-goro is also bad, as there are some caves which need a "right to pass" as well, besides the herbalists farming mushrooms... It depends on luck, still 1 q - ago, if i recall correctly, the alliance were more active gankers - before unit x being formed... Is that so, and now it is somewhat reversed?

  8. Ever heard of... Feralas? Hinterlands? No? Then you deserve to be camped.

Thank you for the addon suggestion. I've added that into my array of addons.

Considering those are 30-35 level zones, it'd be kind of foolish to try leveling there don't you think?

Okay, you're probably from Cataclysm or mop, where the level ranges are different...
In wotlk, both have the exact same level range of Tanaris, 40-50 (most Hinterlands quests are lvl 46-48). That's why I suggested you those. I play vanilla/wotlk for ages, I leveled billions chars, go there and see if I'm lying or being stupid.

  11. While I don't exactly recall my Vanilla days, I was almost always on a PVE exclusive server. This is actually the first time I've really ever encountered me being flagged as pvp in certain zones.

Oh, now I understand the necessity of making this thread ;)
Anyway, yeah, playing on a 12k populated PvP server after playing mainly in PvEs is a hell of a impact. The only thing I'm cappable of doing is to encourage you to get used to this habitat.

  13. im guessing you're horde. stay away from tanaris, alliance get real fidgety with their 15 min bg ques and paid GS. they will kill lowbies, and they'll do it happily. its just one of the sad facts of this server. alliance have no lives, and justify their money spent on lowbies. juss wait till you hit outlands. unit x is the only way we can hopefully find some balance. unlike Ohdo they actually pvp instead of spending their paychecks on heroine to snort/inject and afk in dalaran.

  14. Just to report, Outlands has been real fun. Probably died about a hundred times. I'd say Hellfire is worse than Tanaris by far lol. Definitely a rude awakening for me being strictly used to PVE servers on retail.
