Hello everyone recently I just got into Wrath of the Lich King private servers and the server I chose happened to be the Icecrown server on Warmane. Back when wrath was retail I had a special name for my main character that I would like to use on this server as well. I know that it's unlikely that anything can be done, but I really hope that something can be done about it.
Is there someone I can talk to about opening up this name, and if there is, how do I contact this person. I apologize if this seems kinda silly but this name does mean a lot to me and I would like to remember the character I played back then and do as much as I can to remember the character now.

Send a private message to Palutena and I'm sure she'll check it out. Normally we don't free up names that are taken, though.

Add another latter or an x or similar to the name. Lets take your forum name "Sterling", xSterlingx, Sterlingx, xsterling, sterliing, Stterling etc all work sort of so you will still be called "sterling" in game by most people.
On that matter, @Mercy why doesnt Stêrling, Stèrlîng, Stérling and so on work? You could make such names on retail (at least in Mop) but you cant on warmane?

In-game, I assume? There's two reasons for it. First, our website isn't optimized for it, and these characters/letters being prevented helps us to deter possible exploits or crashes (not in-game related, as far as I know). Second is that we don't have a logging system for everything readily available to our GM team. As a result, these characters/letters being allowed can make it difficult for GMs to track down the correct players, or to track them down at all.

It better not be any of my saved names, i know them all I will raise a **** storm if any of the 100+ disappear, considering I have never been able to get the only names I really want (despite their total inactivity for over 3 years), except after moltdown 1, after which i promptly lost both during moltdown 2 along with another name which I had always had since 2009 on molten.
