I know this has been discussed on the forums before but it's all been blah blah I want this name blah blah csn I have it. This isn't a personal plea I don't have any names I want for myself. It is just a general idea which is why I'm posting it in the premium section of the forum. I don't want every ****** on the forum to ***** and whine about the topic because they have 5 accounts full of names.
When all the drama had happened with Hermes and everything was lost, Warmane formed and many generous things were done for the players in hopes of keeping them here and generally compensating some of what was lost. With what was given players were able to recieve two free max level characters, with two max level professions, and a preset variant of either heirloom gear or PvP gear. But I'm sure most of you are one-hundred percent aware of that.
It's been two years now since Molten merged with Arena-Tournament. Since then there has been possibly tens of thousands (based on aleged player count and number of characters allowed on a singke account.) of characters that were created to hold names for literally no reason other than to let them sit there. I know that generally a clean-up isn't something that is done often but it's now been, as stated, over two years since every single character was lost and every name freed.
This isn't a personal suggestion I'm entirely certain other people would agree that it's possibly time for said clean-up for all realms with the exception of Lordearon considering it being newer. Not every single character keep in mind. Mainly the characters level ten and below, Death-knights level fifty-five, and max level characters that have taken advantage of the pre-existing character boosts and have been offline for two whole years. So many people have used and abused the Hermes situation to not only reserve huge handfuls of names on every realm, but personally attack other players and take the names ones used before all the mishap.
I feel like it is time to give players the opportunity to obtain new names they never got the chance to have during the Warmane merge and eradicate the useless, never to be touched characters that take up space in your databases.
Yes, people will still take the time to take all the names they can get their hands on but with the amount of players, created accounts, and each and every character made on said accounts it is ideal to do these clean-ups every few years. I mean even Blizzard does inactivity clean-ups at the launch of new expansions which is every couple of years, and I highly doubt with their servers they have any data storage issues at all.
Please take this possibility into consideration for the sake of the community as a whole. Again, I want to make it clear this is not a personal plea, only an outlook on a topic I've seen many comments on. There are so many people abusing being able to own an unlimited number of accounts, which are all full of nothing but level ones. After-all, it's been done in the past. Why not now?

Clean inactive people? Some names got more respect than others around theese servers, would you like that some random guy gets your name because you've been inactive? dang go and be creative and figure out another name instead of crying here.

He's talking about inactive low levels who don't even play, for example there's one name I want that's on a level 29 character inactive for 5 months, and no its not a twink, he has white/green gear.
Also there are people who reserve names on level 1 characters ( I did it too, guilty as charged )

ya its really stupid because names are a lot of fun and the fact we cant get a new one even if they never even actually played the damn character seems like a questionable oversight.

I think you can contact them and they will approve (If they will be logical and smart, I hope...). What I said is easier way, instead of adding some system for deleting characters IF 2 is positive, DO multiplication...
It sucks that I have written, that last sentence. But I hope you understand. :D

Technically, this still falls into "I want a name that someone else thought of and got before me!" Most likely not going to happen.
