Newplayer. Torn on Paladin or Priest

Heyo.

Played a few months ago just to get a feel for the game, but not I wanna do it properly.

Been looking at a few classes and Priest and Paladin have got my attention. They both look fun and interesting. While early days I'll be doing a lot of PvE of course for leveling I'd also like to do some PvP too.

Basically what class out of the two can Perform well in a PvP AND and PvE scinario?

I guess I'd like to do BG's and 2v2 for the PvP aspect.

I know this is a bit of a loaded question, but I'd like to see what other people have to say before I invest a bunch of hours and find out my class is not that great.

Both classes can perform well in PvP. Especially the healer specs (Discipline for the Priest). Shadow is also capable of performing really well. Retribution Paladins are pretty decent for BGs, but rely on comps (Marskman Hunter, Resto Sham, Rogue, Disc Priest, etc) to be any good in 2v2.

Both are also greatly desired for PvE in one form or another (all specs for both).

Honestly, I'd say go for which you would enjoy most. If you might decide you'd like to try tanking or being a melee DPS, and bring all the utility in the world, go Paladin. If you want more versatile healing and PvP options, or would prefer to be a ranged DPS, go Priest.

I geared a druid & regret why I didn't geared a paladin instead, so paladin.

i'd say u shd go for priest shadow and disc heals as pvp. Both r in great demand. Shadow prst just does lot of damage after few spell casts. Some Sprst kill my char in air and use levitate to land safely even with good pvp gears. They r so very deadly. Disc priest rocks too.
