Advertising Warmane on WoW Private Server Databases Once Again

Now hear me out, I think it would be a good idea to bring back the older vote point system where we would get vote points for up voting the site (molten at the time) on private server databases. I believe it was sometime after moltdown and the re-branding to Warmane where we switched to the current vote point system. I don't know the reasons why the warmane staff decided to switch in the first place and although I'm sure you all thought about it carefully, I really do think we should bring this back. The biggest biggest biggest reason I decided to join molten in 2013, is because on every private server database I went to, you guys were almost always number 1 on the lists. To me that meant you were the biggest and best place around for cata servers. Now, at the time, many people did not find the quality up to par in comparison to other servers and yet, you guys were still getting the most votes on all the databases. The shear size of molten's population was reason enough for me to join (even if a lot of stuff needed to be fixed) and now, warmane is much better off in terms of working content and yet, the cata and mop numbers are dropping. No I really am not pulling the, "This server is so dead" meme right now, I just noticed that right before I took a month break from cata, the peak time population dropped a ton and mop also lost quite a chunk. Now I don't have specific numbers but I believe cata was somewhere around 1k players online during peak and mop was around the 2k-2.3k mark. As I am writing this the peak for cata is 632 players and the peak for mop is 1738 (I don't ever really look at the numbers for wotlk cause you guys are always killing it there). I REAAALLY don't want to see what happened to warsong, happen to nelth, and I don't want to see what happened to nelth happen to frostwolf (since if my friends keep switching to mop I might have to as well). So I really do believe that incentivizing players to go on these databases and promote Warmane like we did for Molten will really help rejuvenate the player base for your cata and mop realms. Please please please reconsider adding the old server promotion system back because I really do believe it will help with the population. I know we can be number 1 on the databases again, especially since the server quality has improved a ton. /beg

Yeah not sure why they just stopped giving a hoot about promoting their server. Sure it's a well known name on the pirate server scene, but outside of that? And how do you get new people here? Most servers are shilling desperately proportionate to how low their pop is, and will steer prospective pirate server players away from warmane.

I agree on that. At the time i joined molten-wow i just checked some top wow private server lists and joined the first one which was molten-wow. I am sure lots of people jooned here like that so bringing that option back will probably help mop and cata realms to get high population again. Unless warmane wants to shut mop and cata and is seeking for a reason for that.

The reason why we stopped using those ranking sites was mentioned likely a dozen times since it happened. Low population servers started using paid bots to take #1 from us and the sites refused to take any action against it. We had no interest in remaining part of something rigged like that and with managements that didn't care. Maybe if at some point we find out that stopped being true this might be reconsidered, but it will remain an Administration decision.
