Strange bug when switching 1h weapons

Hi,

So I'm a lvl 74 undead prot warrior. With my current weapon (http://www.wowhead.com/item=38196/bl...red-brutalizer), my character stats indicate 511-656 damage and 15,74% crit. When I unequip it and leave the slot unequipped it displays 10,74% crit even though the weapon provides no crit rating at all. When I equip this mace (http://wow.gamepedia.com/Mace_of_the_Violet_Guardian) my stats display 11,94% crit and 333-430 damage even though both weapons have almost the same dps and provide no crit rating. Please note that I am not an arms warrior to benefit from the Poleaxe Specialization talent. I don't use addons. Any thoughts?

Have you leveled the Weapon skill itself?

Your current weapon skill of the weapon you wield affects your chance to hit and chance to crit , if its not the maxed for your level , when u level it to max you will gain some hit/crit.
