Need help with Mana management for Mage!

Hello, alfa here
Just today we downed Gruul. And an issue that kept occuring was me running out of mana constantly. Now the question is can I manage without Spriests/innervates or is there something else I can do? Btw I am using pots and evocation. I am a Fire Mage btw.

U are using mana gem, right? Main problem with fire mage is mana, u should know that, with most classes except warlock. :)

Talents? Clearcasting spec if u have mana problems - until u have better gear and bigger mana pool. Icy Veins spec when u have the mana pool to sustain it.

It's no joke though. Just that exact encounter is one of the ones I remember being oom so much on back in the days on retail, that and ol' Maggy!

Mage armor.

I thought that was the obvious option ,but it seems that Mage armor doesn't work. For example not only did I not get much more mana regeneration when I tested it I also dropped around 200 dps. Which is huge.

It seems that either mage armor doesnt work as intended or it requires spirit. But regardless the best option is probably to potion spam, evoc, emerald. Because this already gives very high mana sustain. Yet crying for the raid leader to put me into a group of shadow priests might not be such a bad idea either :D.
