I quite don't understand what's the difference between Lordaeron and the new TBC server.
Warmane stated they want this TBC server to generate some revenue which Lordaeron failed to do as it was a charity server.
But, looking at how Coin Shop is going to work out, you guys will literally make no money while the realm is on progression.
I have hard time understanding who would actually donate for a piece of gear that is 30 Euros that would become absolutely obsolete and probably will be disenchanted for Nexus Crystal when the realm progresses on to the next tier?
This idea of combining progressive realm with coin shop probably would fail; I hope it doesn't, but it is turning down both casual and hardcore players. Casual players because of the reason stated above and hardcore players because "coin shop".
I don't think idea of putting a realm "in between" really helps. You guys should have ignored the reddit.
And for the same reason, I can't understand people who say "AMFG P2W" on reddit. If you are pumping oils from your backyard, **** yeah easy p2w. 30 Euros for a current tier gear that has "already been acquired by majority" and would become obsolete in 3 months..
Yeah, sure, you can p2w. Guess what, you only win for, I don't know, 3 months, and then you gotta pay again. Definitely **** no from me.
So funny to see the ppl that use the word P2W, without know the meaning of that word.
Anyway what's your problem about the swap of season/tier/gear?
There are ppl that don8 for every season others that wait the last season and others that leech only like u.
I'm only genuinely concerned how the coin shop has been designed because at least I wouldn't donate 30 euros for a gear that would become 2 Nexus Crystals next tier.
I don't know, maybe some people are pumping oil from their backyard; who knows.

Oil must be pumped always and forever this is the point, everything else doesn't count.

I think your concern has a great deal of legitimacy, I think the staff does have a little expertise running servers tho, and haven't gone into this 1/2 thought out. The possibility does exist that once populated, the coin/point shop can always be changed if the server turns into another leech on the funding from Icecrown. In other words, I think it's to early to tell.

What I am also really concerned about is exactly what you said; "once populated".
This type of semi-progressive realm with Coin Shop doesn't cater to either side of the private server player base. (Full out donor VS Hardcore no-donation players).
I am not sure if any Devs or GMs would read this post in the future, but PLEASE consider this idea as it isn't too late :
- Make it so that there is an iLvl limit for current progression. Players can donate for any items they want in TBC if they wish to do so. However, if the donated item is above the iLvl limit, the stats from the items would be forcefully re-calculated. This way, people don't have to donate multiple times to stay "ahead of the curve". They could simply donate once, and as the realm progresses, their items would scale up a notch if it can.
Let me explain myself;
In WotLK, the realm is on Naxxramas. A donor decides to donate for Sharpened Twilight Scale. Instead of it having stats of iLvl 277, it would notch down to something of iLvl 213. (Max iLvl from Naxxramas 25).
This would solve the issue for "donating multiple times to stay ahead". No one wishes to do that honestly.
To implement this, you would also have to do custom tweaks ( I am not sure if this will require a client base change ) so that the set bonuses are that of the current tier. This would ensure that they will still experience and go through the current tier's progression, but with just extra gears.
Btw, I am not going to play on TBC. (because I am already a no-lifer with WotLK) I am just really concerned about how this is going to turn out for Warmane. Because it is no lie that we failed pretty-big time on Lordaeron. We cannot have another one of those. :(
The Burning Crusade realm is going to succeed just by the virtue of being BC and well-scripted and having any kind of coin shop is going to make sure to generate some income, as opposed to none. I think the current system is a nice compromise that wont pressure people to donate too much but at the same time leave the option open for those who really want to.
To me it just sounds like OP is whining because he wont be able to donate once and then AFK in Shattrath for a year.

I don't understand which part of "I am not going to play on TBC" regardless of them having full-on coin shop or not.
I just don't like the expansion, and I am not going to play on it. I don't understand how hard that is to understand and the need for insulting me in person calling me a "whiner".
