So, I hit max level with my first character here (Arms Warrior).
My main interest is PvP but I heard some bad stuff about the PvP here on Icecrown. 7/10 people I inspect are BiS and that's acceptable, it's a pretty old realm but 6 of those 7 have their gear from the coin shop. I am not really into raiding so I cannot obtain a lot of the BiS items like Shadowmourne. The only options I have are: PUG raids (we all know that this is not a valid option and PUG raids never manage to complete an instance) and donating. 80% of the playerbase is BiS geared so there is pretty much no way for a pure PvP player to actually get to a decent arena rating without donating.
I am aware that if there wasn't a coin shop I wouldn't obtain these items too but other pure PvP players wouldn't have them either and would be willing to take PUG raids more seriously and form more PvP guilds that are open for people trying to gear up.
Is there a way for a player that is not going to donate to be able to get far in PvP here?
P.S: I have like 5 max level characters on Frostwolf (the MoP realm) that I might try to sell (I will probably donate like 10 bucks for a premium acc) but I don't think anyone would buy them .
Also, I heard that buying coins with gold is a thing here and I wanna know how much gold per X amount of coins people want on average.

You can get decent gear from ICC / RS 25n or buy with EoF like trinkets, some offset. If you are good you don't need Shadowmourne to achieve high ratings. Back in the days I got 2.7 on my Warrior without even donating or having any heroic item on me. Just Shadowedge + normal trinkets should be enough. Good luck and have fun out there. It's a game !
