Hello, i wanted to know.. Is it possible that trade can sometimes get bugged?

Example> lets say i trade item for gold.. i get the gold but the other party doesn't get anything?
(jet i lose the item as normal trade)
Is it even possible?

Yes there are rumors of some dirty tricks in ingame trading. Thats why i would always avoid it and instead use the mail system pay option or the auctionhouse.
