So it's gonna be 30 euros for at the time current set or?

I don't understand which part of "I am not going to play on TBC" regardless of them having full-on coin shop or not.

I just don't like the expansion, and I am not going to play on it. I don't understand how hard that is to understand and the need for insulting me in person calling me a "whiner".
Oh, I'm sorry for considering "The server might make less money" a not very sincere motive for this thread's existence. But even on the off chance that you are being genuine, I don't feel like you're doing a very good job at selling your point, especially considering how wrong you are about the popularity of balanced realms, which have consistently been the most popular on the private server scene.

I called you a whiner because It sounded like someone whining about not getting to keep their toys forever. I did not do it in person however, so if anyone did happen to call you a whiner in real life around the time my post was made, then you should take it as either pure coincidence or some sort of divine sign.

But, looking at how Coin Shop is going to work out, you guys will literally make no money while the realm is on progression.
Some blues are better than t4 (especially before T4 got buffed. Rogue t4 shoulders had 10 dodge rating LOL), some are actually bis (alembic, some crafted necks), and T5 is actually bis for sunwell until you start getting fully geared.

Some things like priest t5 chest/neck are actually bis until wotlk because of the mana regeneration.

So, as much as it disgusts me to defend a cash shop... cash shop may actually work. And it's annoying to get tier pieces for both dps and tanks, or against 6 other people. So again.. it's despicable.. but QoL.

This idea of combining progressive realm with coin shop probably would fail; I hope it doesn't, but it is turning down both casual and hardcore players. Casual players because of the reason stated above and hardcore players because "coin shop".

You guys should have ignored the reddit.
I highly doubt anyone from the staff or dev team reads wowservers. They witch hunt Mercy and anyone they label a "warmane shill" for promoting the server.

If you read the subreddit, you'd know that the reason "hardcore" players turned down tbc, is because the only thing they hate more than cash shops... is warmane. This is the retail of private servers.

This type of semi-progressive realm with Coin Shop doesn't cater to either side of the private server player base. (Full out donor VS Hardcore no-donation players).
The basis for your misunderstanding is here. The community is not black & white. Also, your concerns only apply to the short-term. Our plan is a long-term investment. The short-term, immediate income won't be as much as Icecrown produces, sure. But that's fine. By the time the realm reaches its pinnacle, I fully expect plenty of donations to have happened.

TBC isn't like WotLK where you can take your under-geared fresh-max-level friends straight into the end raids and feed them gear. Early on, attunements will prevent that. Later on, content difficulty will prevent it. Maybe you can carry them through Kara or Mag's or perhaps even SSC (albeit unlikely this last one) once Sunwell is live, which means no attunement is required. But how much of an effect would that have? Raids do not have 10-man sizes, Kara aside. You have a full 25-man group and many bosses dropping only 2 items per kill (excluding tier tokens).
Nevermind that many of the "raid drops" aren't actually BIS, but still are a very good starting place for the person donating.

Point being, people will always be willing to buy those items so long as they are appropriately priced and are still somewhat relevant (unlike Lordaeron's initial marketplace). Then, once Sunwell has been out for a time period long enough to have been farmed, then those items will also be on the marketplace.

The staff doesn't make decisions like creating a TBC realm lightly. As mentioned by others earlier in the thread, we have experience with what works and what doesn't. Short-sighted decisions aren't something we can afford, either. Think of it like a game of chess. Trading or sacrificing some of your pieces early in the game is acceptable if you can plan far enough ahead to get checkmate.

We do check on it. We definitely keep ourselves up to date on all kinds of information regarding the private server community as a whole. But we definitely take everything we read with a grain of salt and refrain from getting involved. We're not interested in drama, and that is all such places have to offer.

Good to hear an inside from Staffs actually. A relief that you guys truly are putting a lot of efforts and thoughts into it.

Regarding r/wowservers, (out-of-topic) a free speech is granted there with almost no limitation unlike Warmane Forum, which is a good thing, but there is TOO MUCH freedom with no moderation, making it a community with just bunch of toxic people. Put [Warmane] in your title, you will attract bunch of "hardcore" players commenting "WARMANE IS ****ING P2W STUPIE SHIET SERVIR ANYONE WHO PLAYS THERE DESERVE TO DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE".

    Envy is a powerful thing.

Imo the legendary items like Thori Dal and Glaives shouldnt be in the shop or youll see a bunch of players wearing them like Mourne in IC.

I could see glaives being a problem, but Thoridal isn't even the best weapon for a Hunter's DPS. Golden Bow was BIS for the top performing Hunter spec. I don't foresee Thoridal being a problem.

Yeah I have actually thought about this as well. The glaives will be a problem, for rogues they are too overpowerful. But the bow as Mercy says is not even BIS. People get fooled by the higher dps on the bow compared to the others. But they forget that the dps of arrows is not included and hence lower output dps.

Yep, glaives are just way out of line. Been playing some arena on other **server**, and rogues with glaives are just to much overpowered. Even rogue with KJ mainhand is acceptable somehow, because it has top dmg 350-360, but Gliave MH is 399dmg, and when 400 haste proc from 2 set bonus, its gg wp.

Can't wait for Wmane release, hype is real <3

The coin shop destroys the whole fun of the server.
