Inquiry about the progression at endgame.

Looking into coming over to this server, but can I get a summary of endgame? Is it hard to get into any raids while progressing through each tier or is everyone at ICC level? Looking for more of the journey than the destination since I'll have a newbie player looking to experience the content as well.

    Thanks!

There is very little progression to be made through previous tiers because of the ICC catch-up dungeons (Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, Halls of Reflection). Between these dungeons, Battered Hilt weapons, the ICC ring, relatively affordable BoEs, and very easily accessible t9 gear you'll find yourself at a gear level appropriate for ICC 10n and 25n pugs in no time. Ulduar and all raids lower in tier than that are almost never pugged by a raid of 200-210 ilevel people who are in there for better drops, usually it's just well-geared people making achievement runs and such. On the other hand ToC and ICC pugs of all difficulties are rather common.

If you want a journey play Lordaeron. Leveling on Icecrown is so fast that you barely have any time to enjoy the areas or the experience of leveling. As far as endgame, it's mostly pay to win. Everyone asks for 5.5k gs for everything because very few people know how to play due to p2w and it taking a few days to hit 80. Again, I highly recommend Lordaeron if you are looking for a journey instead of a destination.

Also no one runs dungeons while leveling because it isn't worth the time to set up a group due to the xp rate and people don't run dungeons endgame because most people choose to buy their gear. Major turn off if you are looking for the experience imo.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it. I'll ask in Lordaeron.

I beg to differ with both replying to OP. I've made a recruitment post for <We Rise Again> just seconds ago, if you are interested, give it a quick read. We choose to progress as a guild through all of WotLKs content progressive wise, only wearing what we find during guild raids. I hope to hear from you soon, for more info please refer to the guild post or to our guide in (sw)english, don't hesitate to contact me or anyone online for further questions.

So I guess my question would be: is there enough people NOT buying max gear and everything to be able to run normal and heroic dungeons and do raids to progressively show my brother and friends what the expansion had to offer?

I'm back on the server after some years, and decided to start (again, after moltdown) here on Icecrown. All I can tell is I don't care about actual progression, if I can't find a decent group for end-game raiding, I'll create it myself. That's a better attitude I guess.

Rather than crying on why people are asking High gs or some**** on forums, yep it is better.

Do tell me how is it PAY2WIN after the server(s) being "online" from 2009, there is very low % of players who donate full bis gear as it costs over 300 euros. Even after renaming to "Warmane" it has been 2 years ago and that was more than enough time for people to GEAR multiple chars to BiS gear.

So my question to you how is it PAY2WIN, when everything you can buy via marketplace you can get ingame.

"Games that let you buy better gear or allow you to make better items then everyone else at a faster rate and then makes the game largely unbalanced even for people who have skill in the game without paying."(urban dictionary)

"Pay To Win AKA P2W. when you are paying for advantage which normal players don't have access to unless they either pay too or will have to grind very long (weeks and months)."(urban dictionary)
TL;DR:Any paid process to circumvent hours or days of farming(weeks/months in WoW) or grinding.

If you'd have any experience with both Val'anyr fragment(4(!) over a month of weekly 12/12 ulduar full hard mode runs on 25 - those 4 were the guaranteed ones from Y-S hard) and Shadowfrost Shard (3(!) shards after a month of 9/12 hc,12/12 25m runs) rates, you'd know it is still set up as buying them is "better" - as it would take ~a year to complete them here.Val'anyr and Shadowmourne(if you were prepared for the questline like most top players were) took ~3-4 months on retail, during content progression.
    Ulduar&Val'anyr - 3.1.0 release date:2009 april 14th - WF Val'anyr - 2009,june 8th(Snuggleme from Kil'jaeden US)
    ICC&Shadowmourne - 3.3.0 release date:2009 december 8th - WF Shadowmourne: 2010 march 16th(Modk from Mal'ganis US)

I guess you cant read, saying that a realm if P2W because you can get gear via marketplace is just ******ed, most people who donate full bis gear are people who dont have alot of time to play the game, because they have families, jobs.

And your "Pay To Win AKA P2W" bull**** is just that, bull**** for a game to be called P2W it should be that, not something you can get INGAME with some time and effort. The game to be P2W would be that you "HAD" to buy the item to be stronger or whatever, that item(s) should not be obtainable ingame for it to be called P2W.

There is a big diffrence between paying for SM and getting one legit way, i've did it both way, i've paid for mine on paladin years ago, whenever it was first released on Molten, whenever they implemeted the working quests i did one for my warrior and im currently doing one on my DK. You said something about not being "obtainable" by "normal" players, it shouldnt be obtainable by normal players Shadowmourne was created to be LEGENDARY weapon, not that any CASUAL can have the weapon.

"Games that let you buy better gear or allow you to make better items then everyone else at a faster rate and then makes the game largely unbalanced even for people who have skill in the game without paying."(urban dictionary)"

For a GAME to be p2w you have to have a single or a multiple lets say items to buy which are not obtainable in game it self, if you can obtain everything in game with some time and effort you cannot call that P2W.
