Technical My character was deleted

I last played at ragnaros as a paladin level 80 still bought some things from the website, but due to my studies i decided to idel myself from the game. But when i came back just now i couldnt see my character and the ragnaros server. I spend quite a long time on the character help please :( thanks

I just had a similar thing happen to my level 51 human warrior on the Icecrown server. I was being disconnected randomly, and so I restarted the client. When I logged back in, my character was gone and I cannot restore him using the web tool. The character was also deleted off of my brother's friends list. However, when selecting change realm, there is still a (1) under characters next to Icecrown. Is there any way I can reclaim my character?
