Why do prot palas level with 2h weps?

This just happened to me a few minutes ago.

me ( enha shaman) lost Pendulum of Doom need roll to a Prot Pala and he didn't want to give it to me even though I offered gold. The others in the party sided with him over it.

More DPS when doing dmg...I guess I mean paladins in general is auto attack spec :p

Cause hes gonna auction house it. Prot paladins go prot for holy shield which requires u to wear a shield..

Honestly, there's no point in arguing with them. Clearly they don't get the concept of MAIN SPEC OVER SECONDARY WHEN SORTING RAID/DUNGEON LOOT! If he was Ret, then the 2H would make sense, but, *sigh*, you picked people who don't know these things in the party.

I'll play devil's advocate here...

But BOEs were usually FFA back in the days because it was common thing to have say, a ret paladin roll need, everyone passes to let him have it and then he turns around and sells it on the AH. BOEs only really became MS > OS > AH when leveling got faster.

On the other hand, there's no reason for this on a 5x realm or on a private server in general where you would assume people are less serious about things.
