    Paymentwall

Is anyone else experiencing Paymentwall asking for a photo copy of their driver's license or government ID and credit card? I've been donating using the same card for over 2 years now, and I'm at Honored donation rank. I had to verify with the card company Bank of America to allow a paymentwall international transaction in the first place years ago, and have been using the same card since. The transactions have been going through on Bank of America's end, and Bank of America hasn't sent me any suspicious activity alerts. So if it can pass muster with Bank of America, the 2nd largest banking institution in the United States and their fraud department, what grounds does Paymentwall and their abyssmal better business bureau rating have to demand more private information from me? Is there a way to remedy this? Because I trust Paymentwall with my information about as much as those Nigerian princes in my junk e-mail folder.

Sadly, they refuse to get rid of this Paymentwall scam site, despite it being well known that it is trash. So there really isn't anything you can do.

Paymentwall helps protect merchants by filtering out a bunch of fraud. Paypal lets a lot of fraud through, and if > 1% of your transactions result in chargebacks, they cancel your account. The gaming industry (users) is notoriously bad for this, and it takes a lot of effort to stay under the 1% mark.

That said, I can't pay with Paymentwall at all. My bank says the transaction is originating from a high-fraud country (Latvia IIRC) and payments are automatically declined. That was after spending two weeks jumping through all of Paymentwall's hoops to get whitelisted...

Warmane was fiddling with bitcoin the other day and had a 1 euro test-charge available. I used it and it worked great, but it's since been removed. They're probably evaluating the results to determine if it's worthwhile. Fingers crossed it is, because buying bitcoin is super easy and there's no risk to Warmane.
