How to get people to change to Alliance?

I can think of a few ways that might fix faction imbalance. These ideas may not work, I don't know. I like #1 and #4 the best.

    1. MOUNTS: give Alliance players a token or something that allows them to get the first two riding skills for free. These characters would also be tagged so they could not faction change down the road.

    2. PROFESSIONS: make profession leveling 3x faster for Alliance. These characters would also be tagged so they could not faction change down the road.

    3. GIFT BAG: give every new Alliance player (1 per account) a very generous gift pack of BOP non-sellable items. These characters would also be tagged so they could not faction change down the road.

    4. FACTION CAPS: Cap the Horde Population at 7000.

    5. INSTA 60: allow one character per account an instant level boost to 60. These characters would also be tagged so they could not faction change down the road.

quite possibly the worst ideas yet, congrats.

Decent ideas, except 4, cause its kinda late to limit horde cap. Would suck for someone who already leveled Horde and geared character, and suddenly he can not log in even with premium account :S

Giving them Free mount, 1 bag 16 slot, and proffesions x2 skill would be enough.

People need to understand that players will very rarely EVER go alliance during TBC from a performance point of view. As of writing this I'm in the small handful of people who have killed Prince alliance side and I can say its been a fun ride.

A lot of "fixes" people suggest are tailored towards fresh players, IE. Mounts/Bags/Insta-60 (lol it takes like 14 hours to get 60). While that's fine and dandy what about the people that were alliance from the beginning? I myself don't care about the pop ratio as I've had a blast Wpvping with my guild clearing horde out of CoT and other areas but to the average joe not acknowledging alliance that are already 70 will only annoy them and make them feel alienated and cheated.

Alliance have to band together, you should know this going in as a huge underdog faction. My biggest advice is find friends, simple as that. Find a guild that suits your needs, talk to people and band together to get done what you need to get done.

My only suggestion in terms of a fix would be to limit horde and alliance side characters however this is already a botched solution as warmane allows both factions on one account.

Well you did not explain it so how can "us people" understand? I thought it was a cultural thing this faction imbalance. Having never raided in my life I am sure many people's worlds revolve around the "min/max" but mine doesn't. I would love to play my Alliance drood and I prefer a NELF hunter over any other race, BUT, I took my drood to Outland, went outside Honor Hold to kill a boar and my track humanoids was all red dots. Just like in STV and everywhere else. I said ****k it and attacked a mob. Seven horde came at me. I immediately rerolled Horde and unless their is a drastic hange, I will remain Horde for ONLY one reason. I don;t like getting swarmed. As for "teaming up" with others? The one thing I have learned in 10 years of WoW is NEVER rely on anyone else for anything. EVER.

    Who is Prince?

For the record I don't dislike your goody bag idea. I think Alliance players receiving a few pieces of BoP gear every 5-10 levels to assist in leveling and defending themselves until 60 would give them a small fighting chance. It's a nice incentive that doesn't tip balance at end game or feel like an "unfair" advantage such as reduced gold cost for flying or anything else that's been suggested a million times.

Of course make everything receive have 0 vendor value to avoid abuse.

Prince is the last boss of Karazhan, which is the first raid you'll be doing at 70. Currently there is about 50 people alliance side who have killed him and probably around 100 on horde.

Horde have a significant advantage due to racials, Hardiness/Wotf/arcane torrent and the racial Seal of Blood ability for blood elves which allows an entire spec to become viable when on alliance it simply isn't. Many people also enjoy the aesthetics of the Horde races, so all of these combined create our faction imbalance.

Now for your other stubborn point, if you don't wanna team up with people then maybe Horde is where you belong, you're playing an MMO that rewards teamwork with success and you won't make it far without friends in this game. Your outdated and "edgy" never trust anyone mentality in a video game is whats gonna cause your down fall on either side. So I suggest you surround yourself with a guild and friends that you DO trust.
