1. TBC vs WOTLK

Hello, i wanted to ask the community, why do some prefer TBC and others WOTLK ? And small portion newest expansions?
I personally don't see what's so great for each expansion.. For my it's the same game.. New raids.. New zones.. New level.. etc.. ( only new look.. nothing else.. same game in general nothing changes for me..)

So i wanted to know, why some people love some Expansions over other?
Give some examples i would love to read your Stories. <3

    Have a good Day!

  2. I like WotLK for the lore and that it made a lot of specs viable in PvP. Other than that, my preference on the game systems themselves has always leaned towards TBC. WotLK, to me, is an acceptable "update" to the game, but any expansion beyond that just doesn't feel the same.

  3. I like mop because of the less grindy approach to gearing and the phasing out of pve items in pvp. I do actually like the expansions from tbc all the way to mop though. I will be playing on warmane's tbc server when it comes out for a change of pace and nostalgia.

  4. Classic, TBC and Wrath were quite well balanced in terms of PVE and built onto the story with Illidan and Arthas, people mainly like them for that.
Cataclysm was quite good in my opinion until Raid Finder was introduced and the Deathwing encounter ended up being a disappointment. (I personally dislike raid finder because of what it caused -> legendary items being reduced from something you dreamt of to simply counting the days left until the quest is done)
Mists of Pandaria was quite good, interesting story and obviously Throne of Thunder which is just an amazing raid. Siege of Orgrimmar introduced Flex Raiding which fixed a lot of issues with 10 vs 25 man guilds (from SOO onwards you can get any number of players from 10 to 30 for a raid and just go in, no need to check attendance or merge guilds).
Warlords of Draenor didn't have enough raiding content in its lifespan so people were forced to sit in their Garrisons all day long doing nothing
Legion has the opposite problem... there is so much content that people are getting burnt out quite fast. Every patch means hundreds of Maw of Souls clears if you wanted to be a competitive raider and have the optimal weapon

  5. TBC features content using my fav art style to appear in all of WoW (Anything Blood Elf related) and has some great content.

WOTLK has my fav version of the play mechanics, and I do like to look at Northrend (just not as much as quel'danas)

WOTLK of course. I just can't imagine WoW w/e Northrend. Northrend is one of the most important things on WoW in my opinion.

As for TBC I always liked Outland as a zone for questing instead of Northrend. Regarding Raids I like Icecream Citadel better than Black Shirley Temple. As for PvP I find both these expansions to be very convoluted for PvP considering I prefer WoD PvP and Legion PvP (mostly just random BGs so nothing too major) since it was a lot more easier to manage (no stance dancing so yay!) But really it's the same game with a new skin when you go from expansion to expansion at least that is how I feel about it.

If there was a server that perpetually stayed at the Ulduar patch, I'd play there forever. I love titan/old god stuff.

Mechanically, I enjoy BC more. It's still got the "vanilla" feel with just the right amount of QoL changes.

WotLK is the obvious content winner, but there's a few nuances if I remember my retail days correctly. tBC was the pinnacle of warlock power. Demonology was actually a spec to be reckoned between Soul Link and Master Demonologist. The resists you could accumulate by running the felpup made you a formidable anticaster class. tBC was also the height of the Shokadin before changes in how spellpower worked with the class.

tBC is a bit more "hardcore" iirc in terms of instancing, but also world events. Don't expect to solo that elite on your own. Personally, I'd go for WotLK unless you feel that your class was hit by the nerf bat a little too hard. Since that's nearly every patch for warlocks, I can sympathize.

The only 2 things I dislike in TBC is:
    1. that you have to use NPC in order to queue for any pvp activity
    2. there is no second talent spec to use (hooray for Warmane)

    Best regards

So.. generally it's a downgrade from wotlk, and for those who have 2 much free time.
How's PvP, Which Arenas, Battlegrounds are better? wotlk or tbc?

    Wow died after wotlk.
    +1

Wotlk is peak of WoW evolution. Beyond that, its like IRL since 1990: worlds getting worse

WotLK added Strand of the Ancients and Isle of Conquest. Both BGs I absolutely loathe. I always beg and pray for the Vanilla/TBC BGs when I queue, with the exception of AV. I think all of that speaks for itself, honestly.
