I've recently returned back to Warmane after a year or two of inactivity, and realised that macros have changed.
I use /say macros alot for communication (or /bg, or /raid, or whatever), and I realised that now these types of macros only support 3 lines of input. Example:
Would give the next output, when used by a person named Anqel:
Anqel: hello
Anqel: world
Anqel: I
I've noticed this happens with /bg and /raid macros also. It only outputs first 3 lines, then automatically cancels itself. I know it's not gamechanging, but it affects my gameplay quite alot, and I'd be grateful if you guys could give me some feedback on why this is so and what's going on.
From this I've managed to get the idea that it's not just the fact say and bg macros are broken; all macros are broken.
Macros are made so they only take into the account the first 3 lines of a macro, anything further than that isn't even considered by the system, which I found awkwardly weird.

That's not true, I just tested a five-line macro of mine and all lines were working. Apparently it's just a /say issue.
Regardless however, this is a Warmane exclusive feature, that is breaking the idea of being "blizz-like", and it is as mentioned before, kind of bothering me.
Also, if I wanted to spam, what's stopping me from making macros:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/say hello
/say world
/say I
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
/say love
/say you
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
instead of the one, and just spam the hell out of everything?
Honestly, it is a very poor solution, and it is pretty obvious. If you intend to keep your server blizzlike, please stop throwing features like these out and implementing your own poor solutions for them.... :/
How about you work on fixing the report system (which would actually cure the disease, not just the symptoms) instead of working on crippling one of the key systems (macros) of this game?
Not trying to rant here or whatever, but honestly, this is kind of silly to me, and it is annoying for those of us who use such macros with good intentions.
Same happens when u want to link Recount Skada dps or healing done in say channel. Output is only 3 line long. Therefor it displays only 2 dps instead of more.
Maybe such macros are bugged and lag out the server. Im just guessing, of course. Just curious, but why not put the words in just one line?
Several reasons really!
One of them, is group organisation; I don't know if you're familliar with what typing "{g1}" for example does. Basically it lists all players in a sub-group of a raid. So, raid group (25) actually consists of 5 parties (5). {g1} would be 5, {g2} would be another 5, {g3} another, and so on.
With using /bg or /say macros, you can easily instruct these groups around; for example make a macro that tells {g1} to do something, {g2} to do something else, and {g3}, 4 and 5 to hold position. I trust you can see the chaos everything in one lane would create? So you simply have one line for each group, or 2 if instructions are longer.
Another good reason is addons; the current system blocks certain addons that for example list enemy healers (HealersMustDie addon). This is pretty crucial in battlegrounds, where you can say at the beginning of the match, "Enemy healers are: ", then start listing x,y,z healers, their classes and specs.
Why is it important? Cause healers must die. And if I say this at the beginning of a bg, and if I get 1 more person to focus a healer instead of a DPS cause of what I said, my job is done, and so is the addon's (or macro's). And these things are important.
Furthermore you can have multi-cc, or multi dispel abilities, where you would want your team to know these people are CC'd (in order for your teammates not to break cc with damage), and again, you want to list them out.
The list goes on and forth, but as I said; It's not a crucial part of gameplay, but it does have a pretty decent impact, and because features like this are (or were) in retail, I don't see a reason why we'd ban them from here. Except if it is major server lag or whatever, then I'd understand, but I would appreciate a GM telling us so ^^
No bug, simply this quoted. While it might be bothering you, its usefulness is considered quite larger than that. I haven't heard of any plans to tweak it, so it's more than likely staying as it is.
