Outland - Ninja mining

SO .. what is the view on ninja mining?
Lets say i find a mine.. i start digging and then suddenly a random of same faction appears and start mining on the same node appears.
Is that considered mining or just being a douche ?

I asked this same question about a month ago. My responses were that it is fair game. I was not doing this to people because I find it very rude but I was in the minority and joined the crowd. I still find it rude but with the nodes being so few and people over farming, it is fair game.

It's a pretty douchy thing to do, also it was not possible on retail. For example on retail if you mined a node you could hold it hostage from same faction (it would give some error like "that is already being used" if another person was looting it) where as here it appears you can just turn up and mine it regardless. It's super douchy and quite desperate, but it seems we have a lot of desperate douchebags.

I don't think it's fair game because it's basically taking advantage of something that was not possible on retail servers, even if it isn't against the rules.

I do have some memory issues, so forgive me if I am wrong here. But I do not recall it being prevented on Retail back in Vanilla, Burning Crusade or even Wrath of the Lich King. If it was implemented in the retail version, it most likely came after at least these expansions, unless memory serves me wrong.

It happens with archeo on Frostwolf as well indeed: one player digs up a fragment with another player (either or not of the same faction) around, who takes the fragment before the digger can do so.

Best thing is to not do any archeo with audience around.

I myself feel that it's a douchy thing as well indeed btw, and not a feat of fair play. With players of my own faction I never do that. With opposite faction players with levels similar to my own, I may; a matter of provoking PvP.

it seems like the implementeted that you cannot steal veins now

:) just tested it and same faction cant .. at least
