How is class distribuiton on both factions?
Which one is needed the most?

Depends on what role you wanna do in raids:

DPS: Highest Warlock/Hunter/Rogue

If you want to be highest dps dont roll a Hybrid class.

Also if your hybrid people will whine and make you heal or tank or whathever in 5mans normal and heroics. So if you sure you want to dps Roll a Pure DPS class. No whinning about healing or tanking.

Mage is good, because you bring buffs and cc. And thats a class least played, So you will always get a spot in most case.

What Matt said above me about DPS is also correct. As a hybrid you fill a niche roll in a raid. For instance, most raids want one enhance shaman for their melee group. But they only want one. Same with boomkins,spriests, ele shaman.

But the most needed class right now is a tank. You will get insta invites to raids, heroics, normals, 5 man quests, you name it. Tanks are needed right now even more than healers. If you are looking at a tank then here is the breakdown:

Warrior - Best Raid MT. Best mitigation mixed with threat management. Tough to run in a dungeon, but doable with intelligent pulls and DPS.
Paladin - Good threat management, great AOE tanking abilities with a lot of tools to help a group. Raids you generally OT. So be prepared to have a good offspec like Holy or Ret for single tank fights. Great for rep grinds in dungeons.
Druid - Good mix between warrior and paladin with a BIG health pool. Slightly better than warrior for dungeons, but not as good as the pally. Also OT in raids, so again be ready to have a good offspec.
