1. Infe wanted: Warrior tanking gear progression

    Does anyone know where can I find a list of warrior tanking gear past karazhan? Internet seems to be filled "pre-kara guide" kind of lists, but not really past that. This is the best I´ve found http://wowwiki.wikia.com/wiki/BC_tan...ment_(warrior), but it seems to be lacking craftables and ssc/tk gear.

  2. I don't know of any list of your BiS tanking gear, but I do know the stats you will want to look for on gear. Keep in mind some stats are for threat, others are for survivability, and a couple others aren't good at all.

    Threat Stats:
    1. EXPERTISE: This one is your best friend if you can find it on gear. Not only is it the best threat for the budget below soft cap (32 total expertise), but it's also nice for survivability as a boss parrying your attack speeds up its next swing.
    2. Hit: This one is nice as your abilities function on high base threat.
    3. Block Value: This one increases the damage of your shield slam too.
    4. Agility: This one increases your crit for extra threat as well as some dodge and a small amount of armor.
    5. Crit Rating: This is only about 60% as good as hit rating below hit cap, but is still nice if you are desperate for threat.

    Mitigation Stats:
    1. STAMINA: You don't always have to stack this, but you better make damn sure you have enough to survive the burst damage of the progression encounters or you will be rolling the dice with an instant wipe.
    2. Dodge Rating: If you don't need to worry about rage at all, this stat gives you the most AVERAGE damage reduction for the budget.
    3. Expertise: This reduces the chance the boss will parry you, which is bad news as you ultimately become more vulnerable to crushing blows.
    4. Armor: This one is underrated among prot warriors, but unlike avoidance, this also increases your effective health (except against magic damage). You won't get as much overall damage reduction as some other stats for the budget though.
    5. Defense Rating: I'm assuming you aren't an ***** and have defense cap. This gives decent avoidance past cap, though not as good as dodge.
    6. Block Value: This one isn't as good at mitigation as most of the others here, but it also increases threat.
    7. Parry Rating: This one is significantly lower avoidance per point than dodge, and it just lets you hit with heroic strike or your auto a bit faster when you parry.

    Useless Stats:
    1. Block Rating: This one is made completely useless from the ability Shield Block as extra block chance is already pushed off the table with proper talents and defense cap alone. It doesn't even help push crushing blows off the table when you are vulnerable (Shield Block on CD but no charges left).
    2. Strength: Even though class fantasy might tell you otherwise, this stat is trash for prot. You need to stack a ton of it and lose out on survivability to get any worthwhile threat improvements out of it.
