since the announcement of the upcoming gold squish i've seen a LOT of answers from the comunity, some in favour, some against.
would it be possible to GM's to make a poll about it? so the comunity can say what they feel about this in a more visible way? this would help warmane staff in deciding which path is the right one.
poll could be something like this:
A) Gold Squish is Fine
B) Gold Squish is NOT fine
C) Gold Squish is fine BUT with a different percentage

Why we can't vote up or down and give our vote to some idea, thread, whatever... Like every damn forum on the internet.
I found problem in comments and threads where is no answer from administrator, neither from community. They will just stay in neutral to their dead state, oblivion.

A poll is pointless since majority will favor a No Gold squish and even then it is not going to make a difference because the Gold squish will happen irregardless of any poll.

Agreed, if our opinion mattered, Warmane would have made their own poll, but you never see any polls from them anymore.

I don't think the community is capable to decide such things.
Ppl only vote for things that are in their own interest and they don't care about the consequences for the server in its whole.
Thats also the reason why Warmane doesn't care much about the feedback of the community when it comes to important decisions.Edited: October 25, 2017

Yes, they already announced last year that they will make a gold squish on the end of each year.

Yeah holeyshut96. Warmane will squish 50% of all existing gold on 4th jan 2018. This includes gold in mailbox, characters, trading system, auctions or anything other really. Try spending your gold on things that you'll have to use anyways(Skills, professions, etc.)

I second this. The only important matter here I think is whether Warmane can keep the bots in check. The biggest complain against the gold squish is that it will hurt the normal players and benefit the gold bots - which is an agreeable statement - but I think Warmane staff is confident that this won't be the case. Besides, refreshing economy is healthy for old servers with no more progression in sight.

What would actually help is half the vendor price for grey items and double repair costs. Plus set gold rates to x1.

That doesn't make it "pointless", that shall simply demonstrate that staff actually cares about the community, and shall not take such authoritative decisions that may not be well received by the community, as you said.
The majority MAY go against the squish, and a poll will serve as proof for that to be either true, or false. Then its up to the staff, to show respective against what the community wants, or not.
If you don't care about your community, you're doing something wrong.

caring about the community and doing what the community wants are not always the same thing. 90% of people would vote no simply because they don't want to lose their gold, even if they knew that losing half it was the best thing for the server.
