Lordaeron is dead? :(

It just seems that lordaeron is dead nowadays. Very few people online and global chat and cities don't have a lot of activity. Also not a lot of people in leveling zones and even raiding is not very active anymore. I started playing on Lordaeron about 5 months ago and it seems like the population has just been going down ever since.

Why is the population going down? Lordaeron is an amazing server so I don't really understand why this is happening.

if you want to see what a dead realm looks like, look at Medivh, blackrock, and neltharion. those are dead realms. lords sporting a good population for a 1x server with buffed raids.

as for why the population is going down, 1x rates don't help, as most prefer faster leveling. combine that with no rdf/heirlooms (theres like a weekly thread asking for these) and buffed raids, and you turn a large portion of players away.

with that said it should leave you with a more dedicated group of people at end game. i'd imagine the average lord ICC pug can make it farther than the average Icecrown ICC pug.

Maintaining a consistent raiding activity has become more difficult, but it's still doable when you put in the hustle of whisping players individually or help them level or gear up.

Players these days have wishful thinking. Just like in the real world, in times of crisis, you gotta put in some work and creativity to succeed.

The server is dead and the five people that still play there have deluded themselves into thinking it's alive.

Five people? More like five thousand. This is a high population so it's definitely not dead. It only lags behind Icecrown because IC offers faster leveling, heirlooms, and pay to win options.

would love to have seen these people claiming its dead play back when the population cap on a realm was like 3k, with thousands in the que. yet we all made out just fine. you just all got spoiled by the extremely high population when lord first started.
