WotLK Disappearing gold

Hello,

I recently traded coins for 25,5 k. The transaction went through as it should and I recieved the gold. However the next time I loggen in close to 10k gold was magicaly gone from the character. Does anyone know how or why this happened?

There was a gold squish, gold on every character, mailbox, trade and so forth was reduced by half.
