Technical Prepaid Cards not accepted anymore?

I bought a Vanilla Gift Card from Dollar General and every time I try to use it I keep getting the message "We were unable to authorize your card".

Why is this? I remember a time where Prepaid Visa Gift Cards could be used, but apparently not anymore.

Guessing they look at the Vanilla Visa card like a debit or credit card, in that case they want a photo copy of your drivers lisences front and back and the same with the debit or credit card. I use the Subway cards no issues with them at this point.

last time i used a visa it took like 48h for it to activate, and that was after a phonecall to visa because the card wouldn't activate online on it's own. i now use mastercards for everything.
