Technical expansion switch?

can you move your characters from expansion to expansion or do you have to start from scratch??

i looked in the files i might have found a way to move characters but im not to sure i want to try it without forum confirmation.

You can transfer your character from Neltharion Cataclysm to either Frostwolf (Mists of Pandaria) or Icecrown (Wrath of the Lich King) using the system available on our website. It isn't done manually by you.

at the moment you can only Copy your character from Neltharion (cata) to Icecrown or Frostwolf (because Neltharion has been closed)
