WotLK First time private server wotlk please help.

I logged on and played when I exit out of game and restart the game. Video and sound setting goes back to default.
I do not have problem with playing game. It is somewhat annoying to change video and sound before the game.
Once I log in it is asking to choose the server that I want to play instead of going straight to my character selection.
Please help.

Right-click WoW folder, select "Properties" and uncheck "Read-only".
