Low GS battlegrounds question

Are they removed? Since I only get into bis geared bgs with my low geared toon 3k gs.

I don't think so because I don't meet that many of low geared people in bgs as I'm bis 6.4k rogue. I think the brackets are still working, not sure though.

I believe the brackets are only enabled so long as there's enough people queuing to avoid a standstill.
