1. 60-ish FPS during raids

    Hello Warmane community!

I wanted to ask on the forums what kind of rigs people are using for playing in here. The reason why is the following: I've seen some kill videos on youtube of people doing icc25man here with the recordings being at 60fps. The question is: what kind of PC/laptop do you need for that? I'm currently getting around 40 with pretty shi*ty settings, using a few addons (low fps ones obviously). I'm planing to upgrade to the newest Ryzen chip (Ryzen 5 3600 to be exact, gaming performance similar to 8700k) with a rx470 GPU. Is that gonna suffice?

  2. I have an i5 4th gen with a gtx950 and I have Vsync on. My monitor is 60fps capable. So I always stay at that mark except on Onyxia add phase (1 fps), Dalaran on peak times (30fps~) and 25man raids.
You should lower multisampling. Set it to x2, you should have then enough to play ultra.

  3. [email protected], RTX 2080, 16GB RAM, SSD, average 144fps, but still got drops to 5-30 fps while in dalaran, av, ioc or fighting mboxer.
Turning off shadows gives most significant fps improvement. Changing to older version of wow, without new models can greatly improve fps, but it look ugly.

  4. I just got my gaming laptop that I got for $3000

I don't know the specs because I don't really think about it
(can anyone tell me what the specs are on this thing?)

    but I average 130+ fps

Yes you should easily get 60 fps in a raid with that set up, with high / ultra settings.

Sir that's my wifi password, come to japan to use it :V

    Yes it will be.

8700k is better gaming cpu than ryzen 5 3600 but I would go with ryzen cuz Im using lot of video rendering etc. Also you can upgrade your cpu later much easier due to chipset.

    I have 60fps with i7 3770k, 16gb ddr3 1600mhz, ssd and hd 6850 gb gpu.

  9. 1. Play on wow client without legion models.
    2. Set your shadow quality to 1 level under maximum, it significantly increases performance.
3 You can try to use Large Address Aware https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...-aware.112556/

And then have 30fps in dala anyway, cuz 3.3.5 client is old and poorly optimized and it will never use full potential of your PC regardless of what spec you have.

  10. I got i5 6500, GTX 1060 and 16 gigs of RAM. Even with that setup I get 45ish FPS in ICC. So problem is not with hardware, game's poorly optimized.

  11. I have 60fps with i7 3770k, 16gb ddr3 1600mhz, ssd and hd 6850 gb gpu.
Which graphic settings are you using with that CPU? Any addons (Raid frames like ElvUI, msbt, skada/recount etc.)? :)

    Thanks for the reply!

  12. Yeah well Dalaran fps isn't really bothering me. What bothers me is the fact that I see peoples videos on youtube will maxxed out settings (particles, textures etc. Shadows probably lower) on Lich King and other intensive fights, while recording! That's what I wanted to know, what are the required specs to being able to play that way. It's easier to channel your spells and have a good idea on what is happening in the fight if you see all of the spells properly :)

Everything on max except shadows on the lowest.

Yes I use addons like msbt, platebuffs, dbm etc

And you get 60 fps on boss fights? :O nice :) Now I'm excited.
Maybe my 8Gb of RAM are holding me back? :/ DDR4 OCed to 2667mhz

More or less, depends on the raid. I dont know why is 60 mandatory to have when you have play it perfectly 45+ fps.

If you have K intel processor, try to OC it, if you have decent cooler.

8gb ram is more than enough for WOW, it barely uses more that 4gb - its only in crowded areas when it can reach around 5gb of ram. Speed is also ok.

    Rx470 is more than enough.

Most important thing is your single core performance of your CPU. 8700K would be great if you overclock it.
