This one is pretty easy. I was starting a raiding and saw a server announcement stating "Restart" I thought "fine whatever, ill just /rw start after server reset" only to realize 45 minutes had gone by and all my raid plans went to waste. See i was under the impression the server announcements were following similar rules as retail and that restart meant a simple flip of a switch with downtime no more than 15 min. This was no restart, this was a shut down and maintenance. A simple miscommunication that could have been avoided.
Things can go wrong during a restart.
Something might have happened and prolonged it. Maybe something was updated or they planned on maintenance to be way shorter than it ended up being.
They're usually pretty on-point, most restarts take about 5 minutes or so which is quite fast for a server.4
Edit: oh, well, it's most likely an automated message which wasn't changed.
