1. Scripting/hacking

    Hello,
So, I just tried logging my account after like a week of not playing at all, and voila, I'm suspended for 3 weeks for scripting/hacking. Now, I have no idea how and why this happened, I've been playing on this server for 10 years now and this is my first ban, but I see that many people got the same issue recently. Gms are saying these aren't false positives, but how do I prove that I haven't done anything, at least not intentionally?

I'm already guessing that I won't get any precise info on what it is that I've done, they just know that I did something, and that's enough for them. But since I don't know what they know, and I don't know what I could have done, what is my defense in this case?
-I have 2-step on website, nobody has my pass, I remember that the last time I played, I was online for maybe an hour, I did the valentine dungeons, and there were some glitches in there with the bosses, but nothing out of the ordinary happened. Now, I do have one tricky program on my laptop, the Kmspico thing for activating Microsoft Word, can this be picked up as a hack just by "existing" on my laptop?

Basically, let's trust me for a second that I'm not lying, and I haven't hacked or scripted, how do I prove this?

If the answer is "you can't", then, well, that's a big issue on the warmane side, as they can basically ban anybody, label them as hackers, and that's it...

  2. There's nothing you can do to prove you are innocent. Maybe you have some sort of program that edits the map? I know that they made it bannable few months ago. Try opening a ban appeal but don't get your hopes up.

  3. Here's the answer: http://forum.warmane.com/showthread....30#post3033230
TL;DR: Anticheat used to let many things slip, it's not slipping anymore. Bans have been issued manually with solid evidence collected and it's highly unlikely you're getting it shortened.

  4. Sexymap addon maybe? The only thing that comes to mind... I did open it, but I'm guessing it will take more than a day to get to it, so I'm just trying to prepare in a way, see if anybody actually managed to prove innocence.

Yes, I've read that, but I'm not gonna get to see that evidence. I am speaking from my perspective, I KNOW that I haven't used any hacking program, I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. And being told "well, we don't believe you" is just frustrating. Logic states that you should prove the positive, not the negative - I can't prove that I don't hack when I don't know how I hacked, and they aren't going to show me their proof, so yeah...

And also, what if it is an addon or something? How do I prevent myself from being banned for no reason again if I don't even know what got me banned now?

  6. Those that got banned for scripting/hacking got the same answer including me. So a ban appeal wont lift the ban because Warmane Administration keep on insisting that we were all using third party cheating software and they could not provide a solid evidence in that matter. How can we be sure that in future we will not get banned because of the same reason? Considering this situation and how they handle our Ban Appeals, there is no possible way that you can prove that you didn't use scripting/hacking or as they say third party cheating software /un locker. Me personally, I never donated, just played few months on this server but there are players that are for many years on this server, they also might have donated also and I don't think this is the way to treat people, keep in mind they have invested time in playing on your server. I know this is related to Account not the Player. But this is people. Not Robots. And we all want solid answers. I wish you could have worked little more on the customer service experience on this matter. I hope that we can learn something out of this.

I've been on this server for 10+ years. Started on wotlk, went to Mop, restarted playing on wotlk just about 3 months ago. Donated before, donated again a month ago. And I'm not a teenager messing around either, I'm 26, student with a job and not much free time, which I enjoy spending in-game when I can. Not exactly a profile of a player who would risk their account after 10 years of maintaining it, right?

I do think the KMSpico thing caused this because I did activate it like a month ago, and it is a script in a way, but it is used for Microsoft Office, it cannot affect WoW in any way at all. Now, this could be a chance for them to test it, so they know for the future, but I guess it's easier to call me a liar, like one player matters next to 20k+ others...

    I totally understand you.

You could think of any software at this moment... that might be the reason of the ban, but until you get a solid prove by their side, it wont matter. We all are liars in their eyes and we could not prove it otherwise. So what is the point of the Ban Appel? What is the point in discussing on this matter? I would rather just wait it out and not stress myself in finding any logical explanation.

  9. unless KMSpico injects something into wow.exe i doubt that's the reason for your ban. from my understanding the anticheat only detects things injecting themsleves into wow to try and alter something. same way steam does for instance with their anticheat software.

that being said a quick google of that program mentions it not being developed anymore and that 1 website for downloading it is a scam. perhaps you got more than you bargained for when you downloaded it.

I'm not sure what you googled, but it is still being developed, the last version being 2 weeks old, and it's not a scam if it works? I don't know, but I don't think I got anything else from it since I am very careful about viruses. I haven't had any issue really, but okay, maaaybe that's a possibility.
Then again, if you are right about the first thing, if it HAS to be something injected into wow directly, then I am entirely clueless. It could only be one of the addons, maybe, nothing else comes to mind.

i don't think addons have the capability to alter the game, not sure if you've herd of it, but there's a program many people use for cheating pc games such as borderlands, where it attaches itself to the game engine and injects whatever cheats you pick, such as inf ammo/money etc. changing mobs from 1 into another and 100 other things you can do. to my knowledge that's the type of thing the anticheat flags/picks up. a program simply being on your pc shouldn't have any effect, as i've played wow with the above program installed on my pc, but not attached to wow and i was fine.

  12. I've heard of such programs but yeah, I have no interest in them. I mean honestly, I've had this account for 10 years, and it's my main - I'm not gonna go testing cheat engines on it. This honestly baffles me, because if what you're saying is true, this ban should not happen. I have my wow.exe on my taskbar, I have addons (some of which might be a bit older because I transferred them from my old wotlk folder), and I have discord that I only use when raiding with guild, I've never downloaded anything from it - and those are the only things active when I play. And they are going to say that I lie, and in a month, I could get perma-banned for the same non-existent thing that I can't figure out...

  13. So many scripty bois coming to cry on the forum, their tears are so sweet.

Anti-cheat has been updated, deal with it.

You are the scum of PvP, enjoy your ban and learn to interrupt spells without hackerino helperino next time.

  14. Instead of using Kmspico for word > use IORRT 3.5. It's pretty better alternative.
Also no, you didn't get ban for that. I even had cheat engine opened in task manager because i was doing infinite gold in some game when I was waiting in Wow. Did i get banned? No. It must be something on your side. Usually people who get banned are always going to forum and typical things are said like: ''I've been playing for 10 years, i'm good, never did that or this''.

Your options are: Ban appeal or try and contact one of the mods but I doubt they gonna help you either. It's forbidden for them to share that information with you.

  15. Sexymap addon maybe? The only thing that comes to mind... I did open it, but I'm guessing it will take more than a day to get to it, so I'm just trying to prepare in a way, see if anybody actually managed to prove innocence.
Nah I meant the actual map, the terrain.
