1. Computer Issue with Warmane

Hey guys I posted this earlier on reddit as well,

I've been playing on warmane for a while now, but I haven't played in the last 6 months. I started playing on Lordaeron again recently. However, now and then when I'm playing, my keyboard suddenly becomes unresponsive. This means I have to manually log out and exit the game with my mouse. Once I have a left the game, whenever I try to type something my keyboard is still 'locked' and a couple minutes after my computer suddenly crashes.

This happens EVERY single times when I now play the game (it can take between 30 min and 2h for the problem to start) . I have no clue what to do.

My computer is clearly not a 'toaster'. I often play other games which are much more 'demanding' such as Hunt Showdown or Apex legends, hence I don't understand how WoW crashes my computer.

I have tried to find solutions, and I have found that many people recommend using Large Adress Aware, which I have done. However, that has not solve the problem one bit.

I am desperate for some help..

  2. My mouse used to have a weird glitch which would mainly appear whilst playing wow. Updating drivers worked, try that?

  3. Are you on a pc or laptop?

What keyboard are you using? Is there a software specifically FOR your keyboard?

What language is your keyboard settings set to? (should be US. If not, this may be the problem)

Do you have any addons which lock your keyboard to the WOW window for accuracy?

Are you on windows 10 or 7?

It's important to ask yourself these questions when you troubleshoot something like this. It can be the silliest, stupidest, SMALLEST, most OBVIOUS thing. Try the obvious ones first. In most cases, it could be your USB failing and cutting your keyboard connection randomly.

Also consider that some motherboards now come with specific drivers for specific USB ports which handle things like Bios resets. That's not a plug to use for anything but that specific reason.

If your PC (laptop?) is crashing after the the keyboard lock out, then there's a big chance your USB driver might be corrupted. You should check your motherboard manufacturer's website and see if they updated the drivers for your system. I know for a fact that Gigabyte boards are really faulty when it comes to ports. Mostly involving their USB3 software.

  4. Hey man,

Sorry I should have been more specific when I presented my issue. But yeah my computer is a laptop, I am running windows 10, and my keyboard is set in French. I don't have any addons. Seeing its a laptop you reckon its the USB driver that is corrupted? I'll look into that.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my post take care !
